HarleyJohnson17
Hello, I have a pitcus catfish. I’ve had it maybe two weeks now, in the last week I’ve been treating ich with ICH X. It’s whiskers have gotten shorter. I know this isn’t a good sign right? What should I do! Will it be ok!!? 😩😩 it’s still having pretty normal behavior thanks 😊
Irene
I'm sorry to hear that! I've heard whisker loss is often a result of poor water quality, but it can also be caused by abrasion against rough substrate (if the food keeps getting buried deep in the substrate), nipping from other fish, etc. If it were my fish, I would probably focus on healing the ich, feeding the catfish a wide variety of fish foods to help it to recover faster, and making sure the water quality stays high. Let us know what happens!
