Pond snails

What's the best way to get rid of them? At first it was just a few that got in with some plants. But they must have had a breeding frenzy. I'm manually squashing about 30 every day and they just reappear an hour later.

I've read that they are beneficial but I find them unsightly.

assassin snails, clown loach, some chemicals , and very important, stop over feeding. with a large food source they multiply rapidly. my preference is to adjust your feeding, and add some assassin snails.

I had a mini ramshorn explosion in a three gal. I put a piece of zucchini in the tank and took it out when it was covered with snails. It took a few times but eventually I got them under control.

Thanks guys. If I used assassin snails then how would I get rid of those after their job was done?

assassins are about 1" in length, and well they move like snails, they aint quick. if the time comes they have cleaned out your pest snails, you just reach in and pick them out when you see them. they do burrow some, but not hard to remove. they also breed slowly, so you wont be over run with assassins.
