Beardedbillygoat1975
Well we had one of our hottest days so far yesterday. Well into the 90s F and I noted my ricefish at the surface and seemed to be gulping air. I ended up pulling them but lost one of my 5. Such a bummer. The solution my wife and I have cooked up is to get a planter with a trellis right in front of the tubs to diffuse some of the sunlight but would still allow air flow. I’ve got air in each tub.
Jungle Fan
Sounds like you've got a handle on this one. Shade, and air should help cool it down and get oxygen back into the water. A water spout on a pump that causes a splash and helps oxygenate the water would be something else you could add for your ricefish.
Beardedbillygoat1975
@Jungle Fanive got an extra pump and can make that happen!
DesertFish
You could also put a fan to blown on top of the water. It will help cool by evaporation as well!
