Black Ram Breeding

Recommended Posts

I have a couple of pairs of black rams that keep eating their eggs. I have them on sand along with the clay pot setup that Dean uses. They have eaten their spawns several times and I really want to try to get the parents to raise the fry. I pulled the eggs once but the fry didn't make it long. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You’re going to get this! Do not give up. Here’s a thread on how we raise Rams:

Note: with black Ram genetics, it’s possible that your fry may come out a few different colors. Just don’t be alarmed!

Thank you, I watched these and I believe my biggest mistake the one time that I pulled the eggs was that the fry were still too small for BBS. I didn't have micron or first bites to supplement.

Also I wanted to ask your thoughts on Peroxide vs. Methylene Blue (I used that the only time I pulled the eggs)

And I am hoping to get some gold from blacks as well, if not I may have to reach out to you and get a few of your golds if you still have any.

What other breeding projects do you have going on?
