Question: How long before removng half eaten snails in puffer tank?

Hey all! Proud new puffer owner. She decided this morning to kill all her snails and eat a bit of each. How long should I let the dead ones sit for her to snack? Should I remove them at all?

Tank is 40 gallons planted with some bottom feeders.

if it doesnt go back and eat them in an hour or two, id probably consider removing what you can. dead snails are one thing that will foul the water in a tank rather quickly to toxic levels.
