Alternanthera reineckii Planting

Is this how you plant Alternanthera reineckii or are all the roots suppose to go down? Do I plant up to the leaves?

P.S. Forgive the upside down pictures. For some reason, my photos display upside down on this forum 🤣

Remove any leaves that would be under the substrate and jam the stem down in. Root growth above the substrate is normal. You can cut more stem off if you want them lower to the substrate.
