Can't keep my stem plants alive anymore

When I first started my tank a year ago I started out with stem plants and they grew like crazy. Now a year later and I can't keep them anymore but my java fern is growing like weeds

what is your lighting, do you fertilize, what size tank and what and how many fish are in there?

Have you increased fertilization in relation to plant load?

the lighting hasn't changed, its just an led hood. 29 gallon tall tank with mostly mollies and an angle fish

Is this the light that came with the tank?

Its probably a combination of low light and nutrient imbalance. I would go with a more dedicated light designed to grow plants and evaluate your fertilization regiment.

@Bradyheddinger I have the same problem. I had beautiful stem pants initially in my 55 gallon but now after about a year I can’t get them to stay alive. At first my issue was a lack of potassium. Dosing a potassium-only fertilizer helped for a while, but now I think my massive sword plants just hog everything. My nitrate is always super low despite dosing 1.5 the recommended Easy Green twice a week.

Do you currently use any fertilizer? And what’s your nitrate?
