2Corinthians57
Hello! I am about to set up my first real tank. It is a 20 gallon long and is heavily planted with lots of hiding spots. I have cycled the tank for about 2 months and all the levels are good! I had a couple ideas for stocking and was hoping people could give me some advice. Here’s what I’m thinking: -2 honey gouramis -6 male guppies -6 Pygmy Cory cats (if I can find them) -Plus some inverts like snails and shrimp at some point Would this work or would it be to much? Also is there any way I could get panda corys instead? I know they are bigger but was just wondering if it was possible. Thank you so much! Romans116
I think that sounds good, it might be a little overstocked but not to bad.
tonyjuliano
You left out some important information... Planted? Heavily Planted? if it’s heavily planted and fully established, I don’t think you are overstocking. if it’s not heavily planted, and as long as you are committed to water changes I think you are ok too. Beardedbillygoat1975
Gourami are hit and miss with shrimp also 2 is ok but males can be territorial and male and female does not guarantee a pair will form. I’d go down to 3-4 guppies and up the Pygmy corys.

Johannes
I would do maby six pand corys and 1 gourami or a male apistogramma I agree with the others about the guppies. Also what filtration do you have
2Corinthians57
Ok, so reading all of this (correct me if I’m wrong) I am now thinking this: -4 male guppies -2 honey gouramis -6-8 panda cories Would that be ok? I will do more research on keeping pairs of gouramis, but what should I put in first? I was thinking guppies, then gourami, and pandas. I have a cascade 80 filter (120 volts).

My honey Gouramis are male and female and the male can be a little of a turd when he wants to breed and the female is out of his league.
