Patrick M. Bodega Aquatics
Hello everyone! I am hoping to eventually buy a Waterbox Clear Pro. On their home description of the tank the company shows a picture of their tank with a large piece of driftwood. This is actually the #1 kind of driftwood I would buy for that tank. Does anyone know what kind of wood this is? Also, What are some types of driftwood you recommend? Thanks!
ADMWNDSR83
I have a nice piece of Spiderwood in my tank, which I have had issues with due to tannins, but I don't knock it. I've also heard mopani is nice as it doesn't float, but I don't have any of that at this point. To be honest, I don't know the differences between the kinds, I just go by how they look. Patrick M. Bodega Aquatics
Both types look really nice. Where did you buy your driftwood? Houston Manzanita and big box stores seem to be the only places.
ADMWNDSR83
In Maryland, US, I am blessed to have a local LFS, Tom's Tropicals, that has an AMAZING selection of driftwoods. My biggest problem was when I went to shop for the wood, I spent hours trying to decide on the perfect piece, and every time I go in there I see other pieces I wish I had picked up. RovingGinger
Echoing the spiderwood. For driftwood check Etsy out. Some really great pieces on there.
Patrick M. Bodega Aquatics
Thanks everyone! I didn't think to check out Etsy. They do have a lot!
ADMWNDSR83
I found a great little cave on there after seeing that pointer! I just bought it last night, and the guy worked very well with me on a slightly defective version for a fraction of the cost. It has open backs, so when I have it in the corner I can still see who is hiding.
