Acclimation of Shrimp and Corydoras

Recommended Posts

The place that I am getting some San Juan Corydoras is the same place I am getting some Blue Dream shrimp. I want to buy both species at once so I don't have to go back a second time. I have a hang on acclimation container for the shrimp and a 10 gallon fish bowl for the corys to acclimate in. The shrimp are going to be drip acclimated for about an hour or hour and a half. The corys don't necessarily need that long, but should I add anything to the acclimation fish bowl like a sponge filter or air stone since it will take a bit longer?

We mostly “plop and drop” new fish. But for an idea about acclimation, watch the beginning of this video. Tank water in specimen container is dropped into the fish bags that are suspended inside the tank for temperature acclimation. And air is added in the bags for gas exchange.
