I have some fry from orange flash and fry from platinum double red. What will happen if I mix males and females to grow up and spawn, could I get the orange fins with platinum body?

Attached is what the orange flash looks like (didn’t have a pic on my camera roll) and the parent platinums I have.

I think you’ll first learn which traits are dominant. In general, some traits can be mapped using a punnet square. Parents carry Aa / Bb dominant and recessive genes. Very basic rule of thumb if there is no overarching dominant trait in one parent or another .... 25% will look like dad, 25% will look like mom, and at least 25% will look like a cross between them. The remaining 25% depends...

Just in general (across animal types), the albino/lutino/platinum type genes are generally recessive. This would mean that you may get all wild type body color, with fin variations in the first generation, but subsequent generations would be 25% platinum again, as the first gen offspring would all be platinum carriers. Breeding back to a platinum expressing parent would bring that to 50%.
