Unbracing
Hello all, so I upgraded my filter with sponges, bio and sponge on intake over a week. Filter is making noise now and a huge amount of small bubbles are in tank. Any suggestions?
KBOzzie59
What kind of filter, canister, HOB??? Sounds like a possible air leak on the intake side? I just went through this with an FX6 that was sucking in air.

Isaac M
Hello @Unbracing, it is possible that the sponges have air trapped in them and slowly releasing the air into the filter causing the noise and small bubbles. If this is the case, you can probably just squeeze the sponges underwater until all of the air bubbles come out.
Unbracing
Nice I will try that. I did let them soak for a bit. But maybe not long enough. Thank you. Edited April 28, 2021 by Unbracing

Unbracing
Well bubbles are gone but now the tank is cloudy. Could it be cause I used sponge for the intake or inside filter?
Isaac M
Good to hear the bubbles are gone. Sponges will typically help clear up the water. If you squeezed the sponges in the aquarium, it is likely that you squeezed out the debris they caught but they will catch it again or it will settle in the aquarium. I would give it a day or 2 and your aquarium should be clear.
