Ogpulchra
I fell in love with loaches and may have gone a bit overboard... Current 20g Long (heavily planted): 10 Strawberry Rasboras 15 Kuhli Loaches 3 Nerite Snails 1 Betta Pest Snails Would a 40g breeder be large enough to accommodate my current stocking level? Would I be able to add 10-20 more strawberry rasboras, 5 more kuhli loaches and cherry shrimp? I can go with a 55g but that would require a new shelving unit. Water parameters have been stable in the 20g, but I know I overdid it.

I might suggest being content with the 15 K. Loaches you’ve got, but go ahead and add in 10 more Rasboras. Key is proper maintenance and watch fish for signs of stress.
Ogpulchra
I wanted to keep the aquarium in my room, but I can do something bigger in the basement. Your reply has me worried that I screwed up more than I thought... haha What would you suggest as an optimal size for my current stocking level plus 10 more of the rasboras? I had considered a 50g low boy, but figured it would be too shallow for loaches. I could also do a 75g.

Of course, since your parameters are stable, you could probably keep them in the 20 long, though if you wanted more fish I would go ahead and just upgrade to the 40 breeder. Also, there will be hardly any difference in the bioload between the 40 and 55 gallons, as the 40 has more depth while the 55 is taller and longer, though it is also skinnier. Anyways, I hope this helps.
