North Carolina Aquarium Tour

Recommended Posts

Enjoyed a visit to the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores today. We've gone here a lot of times in years past. The tour begins with freshwater, features a lovely outdoor trail along an intracoastal bird sanctuary, and winds through brackish, reef, and ocean exhibits. Didn't bother to photograph everything, but hopefully there's something to enjoy here. The theme is sort of fish (and various wildlife) in "North Carolina from the north Western mountain streams all the way down to the coastal shore."

Nice pictures, love me some darters!

I know, right??!!! Those guys were so cool. I think they were there in past years, but now that I’m keeping theme for myself, I loved seeing them. I also snapped a shot of that Valisneria-filled tube tank. Some of the other “plants” were plastic fakes, but the Val was real. I liked seeing it, since I’m growing it in a few tanks. The Dace were pretty... but I kept thinking to myself... “They need more FLOW in here!”
