  1. So idk much about lighting, but I got my 55gl running 2 25$ shop lights, (50w 6k lumen, color 5k, each) water Is 79°, A 0, ni 0, na 0, gh 300+ kh 40-0 pH 7.8-8.2, I'm having the issue of the water being to clean, like no amount I feed will shift the water and my plants (water lettuce and duckweed) are going the cycle of massive growth in couple days then massive die off just as fast, blasting my water to, A 1, ni 4, na 0, then swinging it back to 0,0,0 in a 6-8 day cycle, is there any way to stabilize this cycle, cuz I'm feeding 4 tbl spoons of repashy community Plus twice daily and it's just barley keeping it stable but it keeps going out of whack, anyone know what to do or any ideas, no easy green but I am using easy carbon 6 pump per day
  2. There is these tiny black things, as small as a dot, and they move around on TOP of my water lettuce. Out of the water. ON TOP. They move and squirm, and I have a betta, one snail, and three corydoras. What is this???
  3. I have dwarf water lettuce that isn’t quite thriving. Some of the leaves turn yellow and slowly disintegrate. According to the aquarium co-op nutrient deficiency graphic, it looks like the issue could be nitrogen deficiency or phosphate deficiency. Nitrates in the tank are generally quite high even without fertilizer (20-40ppm). So that would suggest that the issue is a phosphate deficiency? From the Co-op blog, it says phosphate deficiency is uncommon especially if I don’t have any phosphate absorption and I feed flake food to my fish. In addition, all the my cryptocorynes are doing well, bacopa caroliniana is green but new leaves are tiny, water sprite is turning brown and fading. Does phosphate deficiency make sense in this case? I did have a lot of brown diatom algae growth that some new otos cleaned up last month. Could the BDA have depleted the phosphates to such a degree?
  4. Hello I recently started a nano planted tank and my floating lettuce keeps getting stuck in the corner by where my filter flows back into the tank and some pieces are getting submerged and stuck on my other plants does anyone have any tips for keeping it away from the filter?
  5. Question: Do floating plants like frog bit and water lettuce require still water? I tried both and the water lettuce melted away completely. the frog bit is still trying to hang on bit it melted away as well. Well I'd say about 98% of it. I do have some very small new growth on the hand full of plants left. I'm just wondering if anyone has successfully grown or at the top of thier water with water currents. Liz
