Incase you didn't know I love angelfish. I'm thinking of setting up a Lepoldi Angelfish tank and I want pictures of them to put me over the edge, and buy some. I included altums, just because I like altum angelfish, so why not... -
I'm getting a shipment of leopoldi angelfish this week. Has anyone had them? How different are they from scalare and altum? Any tips or suggestions? I'm getting 6 so hopefully I will get a breeding pair. -
@Cory and @Dean’s Fishroom had good things to say about Hikari's Vibra Bites. Both my angelfish and my baby discus ate them readily. I was shocked that the discus ate it right away, It was the first time the baby discus had eaten dry food! I think it is because Vibra Bites looks a little like worms. -
Today I am selling 40 Leopoldi Angels to a local fish store. I think what makes these attractive to the store is that all the fish are mature and they are of a desirable variety of angelfish. I sent a sample pair down to the store a few days ago so that the size and quality of the fish could be evaluated and these were sold almost immediately. The hardest part was getting them out of a deep tank that has lots of tangled wood in it. After draining about 400 gallons of water out there were many fewer hiding places for the fish. With the help of my wife we put ladders on either side of the tank, leaned in with nets in hand, and corralled the angelfish into an area where they could be safely retrieved. At this point they are packed in 5 gallon buckets and ready for transport to the store today. I have kept back 6 fish, because I am leaning toward putting a pair into the 1930s Historically Accurate Planted Aquarium. Something like this from August 1934 Better Homes and Gardens:- 9 replies

I keep Apistogramma, Discus, Corydoras, Pygmy Sunfish and Angelfish. My favorite tank is a 500 gallon community tank that has several pairs of Angelfish that breed often. The tank is large enough that the fry are able to grow to adults in the tank. The majority of fish in the tank were born in this aquarium and have never been out of the tank or even netted. My goal is to have a very stable tank that doesn't need me to do any maintenance. Daniel- 11 replies
