Hey guys! I’ve got a Finnex 24/7 light that I’ve been using on my 55 gallon for about 7 months now. I was watching some old livestreams and heard Cory mention that plants need a time to rest and release co2 before photosynthesizing again. I’m wondering if my 24/7 light being on all the time (it cycles through a night and day mode constantly) will hinder my plant growth? Would it be better to have the light turn off completely, or does it matter? Thoughts? -
Just wondering why I would have a streem of bubbles coming from in the leaf? Thoughts -
I am watching my amazon sword plant pearling and it is producing a single steady stream of tiny bubbles. I started to wonder how the excess oxygen from twenty leaves gets to the one point where it forms the bubbles . That started me wondering how the nutrients from the substrate are transported from the roots to the leaves in aquatic plants which cannot use transpiration. I did try looking it up on Google but soon lost the will to live. If anyone can give me any information on how these things work I would be very grateful. -
I've recently purchased a small co2 kit that I've been using for the past 3 days. I'd appreciate some your response regarding the observations I'll describe here: I've noticed that very rapidly does co2 change the pH of water. After about 5 minutes of running the co2 diffuser in my 20 gallon planted farm tank has seen the pH go from ~7.8 to now ~6.8. This leads me to believe that co2 simply ionizes the hydrogen particles to a controllable degree in the water very immediately after it begins running. About an hour after shutting down the co2 system then does the pH begin it's rapid ascent back to 7.8 What level of pH swing due to co2 injection is reasonable to expect more plant growth? At what point is it dangerous to the life inside of the aquarium? Am I on the right track here? cheers!
