Alright coop folks im upgrading from a well established flex 15 to a flex 32.5 and I dont really have a way of having them both set up so I think I'm going to do a straight swap and treat it like a 50 percent change but transfer everything mechanical filtration c nodes gravel plants and all The part that worries me is my blue phantom pleco im not sure how he will handle the transfer especially since last time I tried to catch him he jumped straight out of the tank and about 4 feet across the room... Any advice. I know ideally it would be best to set up the 32 in advance and use part of my media to cycle it but its simply not possible

Hello! I am temporarily moving across the country for work and am breaking down my 75 gallon tanks for the time being. I will be bringing a 15 gallon cube with me to keep me sane. On the livestreams and videos Cory has talked about the importance of a seasoned tank for a healthy ecosystem. If I was diligent in monitoring tank parameters do you guys think I could successfully breed Multies shell dwellers soon after cycling the tank? If not, please suggest a species you think would fit this size tank and could raise the fry with the parents in same tank. Thanks everyone for your time and responses! PFA my Purple Mosiac female guppy 🙂

I want to upgrade my 2nd 2.5 gallon (as I’m currently in the process of upgrading the 1st) to double the size with a 5 gallon. My question is, can I get away without cycling the new tank if I take everything (substrate, decor, equipment, water) and put into new tank? Would it not be the near equivalent of doing a 50% water change? Second question: if I want to change filter to a sponge filter instead of the stupid cartridge one after moving to new tank, can I just hook up the sponge and leave the old cartridge in for a bit or safe to remove completely and replace?
