I can't find my pea puffer. He was last seen 24 hr ago. He usually comes when I call him (approach the tank). I've checked behind all leaves. Then I found this funky gummy string. Is this him? Is this part of him? Did he die and decompose to this in a day? -
A few weeks ago I got 11 cardinals. In the first couple days I lost one. Like it just disappeared. Then I lost another after 3-4 more days. Now I lost a third one yesterday. The tank is in the kitchen so if they jumped I'm pretty sure I'd find a body as there's not a lot of places for a body to hide. I do have a lid but it doesn't cover the back 2". I've not seen any nitrogen spikes, my nitrates are 5 before fertilizing. I don't have pets other than fish. Is there an explanation I'm missing? -
I used to think it was weird that people would say "I think I have 6 of those fish". Then I put khuli loaches in a very heavily planted tank. I don't see them all at the same time for weeks. But that made sense. Today I couldn't find the 3rd Electric Blue Acara. I can tell them apart. I knew who was missing. There are very few hiding places since the driftwood is still floating on the surface in that tank. I fed--still no fish. I moved the floating driftwood--no fish. I checked behind the sponge filters and under the heaters. Behind all the plants. 5 minutes later, there were 3 electric blue acaras cleaning up the remnants of the food. HOW? Do you have any mystery dissapearing fish?- 29 replies

Hi! So I bought a small albino bristlenose pleco and 3 cory cats. The small cories are everywhere having fun and cleaning with big fish that aren’t eating them. But I haven’t seen the small pleco for at least 3 days and I’ve dropped food everywhere to see if he would come out. Does anyone have an idea where he could be or do you think he got eaten?
