  1. So my mountain minnows have always gathered in a top corner of the tank since i got them, however now they are doing it even more, and its not just 1 or 2 , its all of them. Im getting concerned now.. they mainly do this when the light is off though. A couple weeks ago a minnow did die (first death) , but it didnt seem beat up or hurt in an ways, i figured it was old age but now im worried. the corner they are going to is opposite the filter, and over a large leaf covered in floating plants. Im very confused . Some of their lips are also getting more red, and larger.
  2. Ive never kept native fish before and Im looking to get into it. I want to have a nice looking tank with interesting fish that fit in a 10 gallon. Any ideas? I would also like fish that I could purchase, as I dont really want to collect my own. Thanks, Jack
  3. I have 11 Gold White Cloud Mountain Minnows that have been in an outdoor tub for several months. I bought 5 Platinum Medaka Rice Fish about 2 weeks ago that are in a separate outdoor tub. I would like to maximize breeding of both. Can I safely put both species in a single large heavily planted tub without worrying about increased predation of one species adults against the other's Fry? In other words, do the fish recognize the other species fry as "foreign" and are more likely to eat the other species fry than their own? I know both species are pretty good about not eating their own fry given enough food and cover. Neither have shown any signs of spawning yet. Any other hints for breeding these 2 species? Thanks for your input and experience.
