Hey, I'm getting ready to house/ breed some platys in my 10 gallon! I'm also getting ready for the fluval 3.0 nano thats coming on Monday. My original plan was to not have a lid to begin with and possibly later get a glass lid. But I've heard many stories of platys jumping out of tanks. So my question is, would you consider them "jumpers"? I know all fish jump, but would you especially want a lid for these guys? Or do you guys think its fine if it goes lidless for the first few weeks to a monthish? Thanks so much!

Okay so I just picked up a rimless 5.5 gallon tank that was on sale at Petco, and I was thinking of trying out this filter from Fluval Fluval Nano Aquarium Filter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004BZKDZC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_5S47FNPE3MCNDN1A84M8 Have any of you had one? Do you think it’s to big for a 5.5, there are mixed reviews about that? Have any of you had one of these?

I am trying to get my Fluval Nano 3.0 dialed in to balance and algae/plants. Ive realized after getting my chemistry/fertilizers stable I've definitely been running too much high light. How long do you all typically wait after making a lighting change to see if your change is effective and not causing other unexpected issues? Make a change - wait a week? 2 weeks? 24 hours? I tend to tinker with things too much so I need someone to help protect me from myself....

Hey everyone! My Fluval Flora is a beautiful tank. Happy and healthy. Very green! I have mainly ephiphytes in it, Java Fern and Anubias. Some Hornwort to remove the bad stuffs, and some developing Cryptocoryne Balansae for texture. I love this tank. I am using the Fluval nano plant light (this is NOT the 3.0), which is adjustable with the phone app. This can be a powerful light (it's for plants, after all). And I'm noticing a lot of black algae (not BB, don't confuse the two) growing on the leaves directly beneath the light. I have, on occasion, scrubbed this off with a glass-cleaning pad, but it's not perfect, and of course, the stuff just grows back. My question is: If anyone else uses this light with their tank (the Flora is a 14g cube), what do they set it at, keeping in mind I have mainly epiphytes? I have included a shot of my own settings for reference. Thanks in advance!
