Hi all! I’m looking for some help troubleshooting with a picky puffer. About a month and a half ago I got a schoutedeni puffer. He is currently in a fully planted 29 gallon with a dozen cardinal tetras and a dozen habrosus corys. The first month of having him he was a voracious eater. Whether it was small chunks of organic night crawlers, live blackworms, krill, snails, bloodworms, or Dubia roaches, he went right after it. During the first month I also treated him with two round of prazi pro, which didn’t seem to bother him or affect his appetite at all. Over this last week or two, however, he has become increasingly picky with his food. At first, he began only going live blackworms and frozen bloodworms, but nothing else. Over the last couple days it has gotten worse and he now won’t take to anything at all. No matter what I drop in, he doesn’t even bat an eye. He seems to be maintaining his weight well considering his lack of eating, which makes me think it isn’t anything internal. He also seems to be doing fine externally, so I am having trouble identifying what’s going on. Ammonia and nitrite are at 0ppm and nitrate is around 5-10ppm. Temperature is 78 degrees F and pH is around 7.5. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!😊

Hey everyone. I have a decent sized fahaka probably around 8-10" now. He's passed clam shell pieces several times even though sometimes some hangs out for a while. Im getting nervous this time it looks like there may be a whole half of a clamshell stuck in not protruding out of his rear yet but I can see the silhouette in the back of his stomach at his rear end. Its been like this for a week, he's acting fairly normal, do I keep waiting this out or try to do something? Thanks!

I have three baby honey gourami that are about 2 months old and one has recently started spitting out all the food he gets in his mouth. I feed them exclusively live baby brine shrimp right now. At first I thought he was being picky but I’ve watched him for a long time, and I don’t think he’s able to get any food down at all. He’ll eagerly hunt down 4-7 brine shrimp and then they’ll all come out of his mouth at once. Sometimes he tries to eat the same ones, sometimes he tries new ones. Since this started I haven’t seen him poop at all though I easily could be missing the event. They all have fairly red gills. One (a different one) has started flashing against the plants. All three have little brown spots on their bodies in various places, though the spots are so small it’s hard for me to tell if it’s just dirt or something else. Tank setup and parameters: 10 gallon with sponge filter floating plants and water sprite A handful of cherry shrimp and snails pH: 7.4 Nitrates: 0.25 Nitrite: 0 Ammonia: 0 KH: 50ppm (3) GH: 100ppm (6) Water Temperature: 80 Any ideas would be really appreciated! It breaks my heart to see him try so hard to eat. Edit: here’s a picture of one of them (not sure which). The brown spots aren’t visible in this picture unfortunately—I’ll see if I can get a better one.
