  1. My dwarf aquarium lily (Nymphaea stellata) only seems to be producing stunted/tiny leaves instead of large ones with long stems. I have a red tiger lotus that seems to be fine, and other plants are doing well, but this one just doesn't want to grow. 😄 It's been in there for 6 months or so, and has never really done more than in the pictures. It's a bit back in a corner, so maybe it doesn't have enough light? Wouldn't that make the plant extend further instead of just sending up tiny leaves? I don't think it's a nutrient issue, but maybe? Do I need to nestle the bulb down in the substrate more (it got dug up by some snails and is almost on the surface)? Any ideas as to why it's so stunted?
  2. So, I just recently got a new dwarf lily bulb, which has been doing great! It’s been growing at a rapid pace and I’m very happy. The one issue I had was my betta picking at it, but I immediately stopped it. I put a glass cover over it and it’s been growing fine. However…. Taking a closer look, I can see what my betta was really after. There are these little white transparent “bugs” on my bulb that go in and out of it. I’m not sure what these are and if I should be concerned for my fish and plants? Is this normal on bulbs? Are they just harmless little organisms? I bought this bulb from aquarium co-op so idk if this is normal or if these are from the dirt it’s packed in. Here’s a video I took and a picture for reference: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/592535000197496835/869292243427684362/video0.mov and here’s a better close up of one of the bigger bugs: Any input is appreciated!
  3. Hi everyone! So... I went to my LFS, for some red root floaters annnnddd... I may have gotten some... Other stuff. I first of all got this beautiful piece of rock it's an about 3 pound bit of ohko/dragon stone with really good texture, and some darker colours that I personally think would go really well with a lush mass of plants. I also was passing by the tank with dwarf aquarium lily bulbs, and couldn't resist this really vibrant lily. I know these get really big, for a 5.5 gallon, but I just couldn't pass the opportunity up. I'll probably have to do a lot of trimming to keep it from shading other plants, although if it keeps even a fraction of the red it currently has I'll be more than happy for that tradeoff.
  4. Is this what a sprout looks like? Also idk why the picture is upside down. Also sorry it isn’t the best quality, I put the bulb in a hard to see place
  5. Yesterday this was buried almost completely. Any ideas why it floated out of rhe substrate? It's been there for months.
  6. I just received my Pearl Weed and Dwarf Aquarium Lily Bulb that I purchased. So for the pearl weed, do I just plant it in the basket? Do I remove the wool stuff? I apologize if this is a dumb question, but I have no idea how to plant some plants. Thanks!
  7. I just purchased a dwarf aquarium lily about a month ago and it will not turn red for me. Im pretty new to keeping this plant but im unsure if im doing somthing wrong. I dose easy green easy iron and easy carbon weekly as well as a nircrew led. But still no luck. Any ideas on what i could be doing wrong?
  8. I am running into an issue where a recently-purchased, dwarf aquarium lily refuses to have it's bulb sink to the bottom of the tank. Any recommendations besides weighing it down? Will it eventually sink on its own? Is something wrong with it? Its been roughly 3 days since the plant was added to the tank. Note that the plant is not just the bulb but also has many leaves and roots.
