About Me

Found 4 results

  1. I have found this guy in my tank not sure what it is and if it’s dangerous to my fish or not. Not sure how it ended up in my tank either. I have seen it previously in there but didn’t manage to snap any pics. It was clear then. Apologies for the algae.
  2. Hello, I hope it is okay to ask this in the General. I search my title many times and not found anything like this. Can someone ID this for me? I found a few of such creatures in my 10 gallon shrimp tank and not sure if they are harmful or not. I have not noticed any lost of shrimplets yet. My water parameters are 0/0.25 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 0 nitrate. I have this since late April of this year. I have tons of blabber snail from plants that I bought. Maybe a hitchhiker? Thank you ahead of time
  3. Okay okay I’m getting the summer tubbing bug. 😄 Once I connected the dots and realized I could breed shrimp, wheels started to turn. My question is: is it possible to set up a tub with shrimp and fish in such a way that I have something to eat dragonfly and mosquito larvae, while still getting the shrimp to breed? Trying to do a tub with just shrimp and no fish seems like a recipe for disaster out here in rural Maryland. Lots of different kinds of dragonflies visit our garden every summer, as well as LOTS of mosquitos. Or is my best bet to have a shrimp-only pond but cover it tightly with a fine screen?
  4. Sometimes, I feel like I'm starting to know some things in this aquarium hobby. Other times I feel like a complete novice. What in the world is this thing in my aquarium???
