Ive been keeping fish since I was 5 in Boston with my dad. Took a break from 9/11/01 until 2014 or so while serving in Army and starting a DHS career post service. down to 3 50 gallons and 1 75gallon tend to skew to puffers these days. 50g : variatus platy colony, dwarf chain loaches (12), LDA01 (5), heavy plants, Cherry Shrimp (skittles) 50g: Crenichila Regani pair 50g: 3 hairy puffers full grown (18 month old colony) 75g: nile puffer 4" very chill so far, dither experiment: kribs, celebes rainbow I like working on breeding all my fish and learning from them. puffers are really fun for me looking forward to getting baby hairy puffers from the colony after seeing some breeding behavior early this year and hoping for regani babies as well at some point.

So I am ready to cry uncle. I knew a madagascar lace plant in a 5 gallon tank was too big, but I honestly thought it would not make it. I assumed I would get a few leaves and then it would just peter out. That has not been the case. Poor Piglet barely has room to make it to the surface. (pardon dirty glass and sand, I am about to water change and refill) I have been thinning it out weekly it just keeps coming. You can't even see the sword plant hiding in the back, and it is smothering everything. I think it is time to move it to the 40 breeder. But if I am going to destroy this tank, I want to know if anyone knows how to propagate this beast? does it make off sets? bulblets? can I divide it? Also...Shrimp and snails have been keeping this tank algae free, as has the rampant growth, no doubt. The electric blue acaras in the 40 breeder will not permit shrimp or snails. Any suggestions for algae eaters that will survive an acara, without eating the lace plant?

Hello everyone, I figured I’d give the brine shrimp hatchery a go I whipped up something from thingyverse on the 3D printer and made a little light fixture. I was wondering if you guys could help with some proportions. I can hold about 15oz of water. How much salt/ brine shrimp/ baking soda should I use and do I need to rinse them after I was thinking of using a coffee filter of some sort. Thank you all in advance!!
