  1. Rare sighting for us (thanks Ida). A juvenile Short-billed Dowitcher… Camera isn’t all that great… had to get close!
  2. Spring migration in Appalachia. Lots coming through!
  3. We on a mission.... Um... Mr. Frodo sir... not sure about this forest...
  4. Some photos. Two eBird checklists from separate sites. Most photos were not really shareable. The warblers and summer tanager came out alright.
  5. The little guy was flopping around in one of my shrubbery beds. I haven't found a nest, yet. He's in the bathroom at about 80°F. He's eating ground up, freeze-dried bloodworms mixed with water to a stew-like consistency. Does anyone have better ideas?
  6. Here’s some shots from today’s birding. Several were too far for a very good shot (woodpecker, warbler, egret). Lens only goes up to 300 mm. From top to bottom we have: Red Headed Woodpecker Prothonotary Warbler Cattle Egret Royal Tern (look closely! It’s banded on right leg!) Double Crested Cormorant
  7. Enjoyed a beautiful day out birding. Counted 67 different species in our County between 7 am - 12 noon. Photos are of Pine Warbler and Song Sparrow.
  8. Big snow today. Enjoyed hosting these winter guests in the backyard. #enjoynaturedaily
  9. We all love nature here enough to bring it into our homes. What other non- fishy pets do we all have? I have a cat,3 turtles, 7 salamanders, 3 rats, approximately 100 land snails,15 snakes right now but I breed them so at my high point in the year I will I have over 100 snakes, And a dog
