I’ve used auto feeders (I have the Eheim now) a few times but none of the ones I have tried are good for small tanks, they seem to dispense quite a bit of food. I have a 10 gallon tank with a dozen CPDs and Neocaridinas so it doesn’t need much if I leave town for a week. Any recommendations on auto feeder’s that will release small amounts of food?

I have never used an auto feeder before, and was just looking at some online and on amazon. I was wondering if anyone has ever used these devices before? Did they work well? Are there features i should look for in a good model vs a more mediocre model? Or are they even worth the time or money? Any thoughts and opinions are more than welcome. *oops, i thought i was in the general thread, didnt mean to post it to the plants thread. *

I have a few 29g Aqueon tanks with the folding glass lids. When I bought the EHEIM everyday feeder, I was surprised to see how far the feeding hole on the canister is from the clamp. I cut out a good sized square from the plastic section but I still haven’t figured out how to install it without getting flake food all over the place. Am I missing something? Do people not use feeders on tanks with lids?

So, filled up the auto feeder last nite. Headed out to enjoy some nature this morning. When I got back the feeder was stuck in the “On” position and the tank looked like a snow globe. Ugh. Did the emergency water change. Added a second sponge filter to help suck up the rest of the food. So, what are your thoughts, should I do a second 50% change tomorrow, or a 25%.
