  1. Nevermind....After my husband suggested it, I used one of my aquascaping tools to poke around in the corner. These were air pockets in the substrate, trapped between the substrate and silicone. Not between the silicone and glass haha. My bad.
  2. After my last water change, on my 10g, I noticed what appears to be little pockets of moisture in the silicone in one of the corners. (Picture Attached) I'm wondering if this will lead to the tank bursting? Just curious what the community's thoughts are on continuing to use this tank vs discontinuing. Thank you everyone.
  3. Thank you everyone for the feedback! @Angelfishlover, I never even considered my meatball of a dog, thank you for that heads up haha.
  4. Hello, I am in need of some assistance from the community. I purchased a 29 gallon and my husband and I are trying to decide where to set it up. The options are: A. The Living Room, concerns are noise and movement, being that we have young kids who can get rowdy. B. The Master: concerns being that the room is small and out of the way, for viewing. C. The Garage: concerns are no water source and music is often listened to out there. I would take any and all feedback/opinions you all have. Thank you!
  5. Thank you I appreciate the feedback. I have had one of my Bettas for 6 months and the other less than a week. My 10 gallon is definitely in need of more plants so I think I will try that route first, get it filled in and then try a matte black background. Thank you again I appreciate it.
  6. I spill pellets every time I use them. I just can’t help it haha
  7. My bettas seem to hate having a backgrounds on their tanks. I’ve tried solid black and one with an image printed on it and both made them flare like crazy. They seem to be able to see their reflection no matter what, but the background made it 10 times worse. I have a 10 and a 5 gallon each with a betta. Anyone else experience this? Or do you have thoughts on backgrounds in general?
  8. Are these fish available for sale or is this a list of new fish in quarentine? Thank you
  9. Currently: ph: 8.2 ammonia: 0ppm nitrite: 0ppm nitrate: 0ppm
  10. I love the name skittles tank. It creates a great image and makes me want one lol
  11. My betta (Hue) has what I believe are clamped fins. I’ve tried various medications, including the med trio. I had salt in the water at a low amount (less than a teaspoon per gallon) for awhile but there was no real measurable improvement, no surprise. I did notice, if I didn’t add salt his fins would begin to clamp to the point of tearing. It’s most noticeable in his dorsal fin and the top of his tail. I found the co op’s article about salt and have tried both levels 1 and 2. I’m a little scared to try level 3, a tablespoon per gallon sounds like a lot. I’m new to the hobby, Hue is my first betta and the first fish I’ve been the sole keeper of. I want to do right by him but I’m concerned I may be completely off the mark with his health, but since I’ve had him his dorsal fin has never opened fully and often looks like a sad tattered flag when he lifts it. I guess my questions for the more experienced minds out there are, can bettas really handle 1 Tbs per gallon of salt? Thoughts on his fins? Can I keep live plants with him if I’m not concerned about losing them to salt? I would prefer he has some enrichment while being treated. Last one is how often do you change water when treating with salt? Thank you to anyone who read this.
