  1. Thanks for the great response! I just sent you a PM and yes, I am an old fishkeeper. I started raising guppies in 1957 and loved the ceratopteris cornuta for the protection it offers to the fry. I am just getting back into line breeding fancy guppies and can't seem to find any of these plants in stock. Although I love planted tanks, I find my breeding tanks are easier to maintain with floating plants. Thanks again, Jim.
  2. Does anyone know where I can buy some? I'm in NorCal...thanks, Jim
  3. This the thread that connected me to CARE. Of course, this is two years later but I can confirm that albino guppies are more difficult. I purchased a trio (1 male, 2 females) last month and had a bonus of one baby in the shipment. Yesterday, one of the females was giving birth. Although I have a patch of guppy grass, she got to them as quickly as they were born. I didn't have a chance to catch the fry before they were gone. Maybe they were premature but I plan to use a large net breeder box before the other female give birth. My other guppies at least drop them in a patch of cover and give them a fighting chance! Here a pic of what I am trying to raise:
  4. I can't believe this forum has been going since 2020 and I just found it today! I have watch many good videos by Cory and Dean as well as dealing with Aquarium Coop. I have been keeping fish, on and off since 1956 when a friend of my father's gave me guppies in a 2.5 gal. tank. That quickly expanded to 6 tanks breeding guppies and then moving to bettas. Got into music for many years then, in the '70s, went back to guppies and discus. Then came family and and other responsibilities so fish keeping paused until the early 2000s. At that time, the kids were were out on there own and I soon had 18 tanks ranging size from 10 to 80 gal. I again went back to guppies and Discus for a few years. Then, I started my own business and that involved a lot of travel so the hobby paused again. Now I am retired and enjoying my two hobbies...tropical fish and music. I am slowly resurrecting my 18 aquariums and concentrating on line breeding fancy guppies. Here is my 75 gal. soon to be converted into a guppy grow out tank:
