  1. How much salt is safe for plants? I have crypts, jungle Val and Anubis
  2. I moved my school of rainbow fish from a 60 gallon to a fully planted 75. I had three die randomly. And now many are showing these symptoms. See pictures below the water parameters are ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 10-20 temp 78.5 the other inhabitants (angelfish and loaches are fine) I treated with a combo of ick x and a fungal medicine and have been feeding frozen foods soaked in vitamins and garlic to improve Heath The fish are still active and eating well, but aren’t getting better I ordered some fish antibiotics from online that treats gram negative bacteria infections. any other suggestions or ideas?
  3. That’s the confusing part, the clown loaches are fine and they’re the more sensitive fish historically. It is solely effecting the rainbows.
  4. Hello All, Ill give some background then post my water parameters below, I’ll add pictures when I get off work if that’s helps. So I had a 75 gallon peacock cichlid all male tank with some clown loaches. The tank has been up for half a decade. A few months ago I starting losing cichlids left and right I assumed it was aggression because they looked tore up or just hid in the corner and died. Note through all this the clown loaches were in perfect health. After losing 12 of my 18 male peacocks I got rid of the rest and moved all my plants and school of rainbows into the 75that I have had in a 60 gallon planted tank for several years. I removed the aragonite and transferred the rainbows. That was Friday and yesterday and this morning I lost three rainbows and 6 more have white patches on the fins. It’s not ick more like fungal/bacterial The clown loaches are fine, fins look perfect. I have tested multiple times in the past few days with both liquid and test strips. Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nirate 10-20 ph 7.4 temp 78.5 degrees I worry that is was a disease that was killing the cichlids and not them killing each other is there a disease that would kill cichlids and rainbows but not affect clown loaches? The tank is 75 gallons heavily planted with a fx6 for filtration. There is about a dozen rainbows two Angelfish 4 clown loaches and A ton of kulhi loaches in there Thanks for you help!
  5. Hello all, I have a now empty 60 gallon tank, it’s the 55 gallon blueprint but taller. It had Mbuna in it but I sold them all. So I have a empty tank with canister filter ready to go. If you had an empty 60 gallon what would you stock it with??
  6. I contacted the company that I bought the fish from and they said that because I chose to medicate the fish, they will not issue even partial credit. There thinking the meds killed the fish. Should I press the issue with the company? Or just eat the $200 and let it go?
  7. Hello, This is my first post here but I had a issue arrive this morning and wanted some advice. I purchased some Amazon puffers from a online retailer (I won’t name it because I don’t think that’s the right thing to do). They all arrived alive and I acclimated them properly, I made sure they werent exposed to air. They all seemed to be doing well. This morning when I woke to go to work 3 of the 6 where dead and my wife messaged me 3 hours later and the other 3 are dead. They are in a 10 gallon QT tank with airstone and a sponge filter I keep in my 75 gallon African Cichlid Tank to keep it seeded. The parameters were 76 degrees, 5ppm nitrate, 0ppm nitrate and ammonia. The only thing I added was the quartine med trio according to the instructions. I did not feed the fish. Any help on what may have happened will be appreciated. Thanks In advance
