  1. Hi, looking for opinions. This is my 38 gallon planted tank and looking to add one more fish species to complete it. Here's what I have: 9 green neon tetras 10 black phantom tetras Amano and red rili shrimp kept at 74-78 degrees 2 HOB Aquaclear 20 filters pH 6.4 GH 300ppm I'm thinking either 2 pearl gouramis (potentially both female to cut down on aggression) OR 6 threadfin rainbows (2 male, 3-4 females). Which one do you think I should get? Or do you have a better idea? Thanks!
  2. Your rasboras are beautiful! Thanks for the suggestion.
  3. I'm struggling to figure out how to stock my tank. Here's the parameters and what I have so far: 38 gallon, pH low at about 6, gh is moderate to hard, but it's sometimes tested softer. Currently stocked with red rili shrimp, amano shrimp, and 9 green neon tetras. I want a fish that's bigger, that doesn't harass cherry shrimp (eating babies is ok), and that won't eat my plants (had some honey gouramis that ate my plants). Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks.
  4. Hi everyone, I have a 38 gallon with 9 neon tetras and red rili / amano shrimp and I'm trying to figure out a centerpiece fish. I'm very interested in pearl gouramis, but I have a few questions... 1) Do pearl gouramis eat frogbit roots? Here's why I ask: I used to have honey gouramis and they would always eat the roots to my frogbit so they never grew long like they're supposed to. Once I put them in a different tank, the roots grew long. Do Pearls do this too? 2) Do they bother cherry shrimp? I had a betta in there that would always chase the shrimp, so the betta had to be moved. Do Pearls chase or eat them? I'm sure they'll eat hatchlings, but I'm alright with that. 2) How many pearl gouramis could I have in this size tank. Just 1 or 2? Thanks!
  5. Hello! I've been wanting to join for a while as I'm new in the hobby (less than a year) but I've been a fan of Aquarium co-op ever since visiting the store after we moved to Edmonds. Here's a picture of my 38 gallon. So far I have green neon tetras, chili rasboras, and lots of shrimp. I'll be adding more fish later once I decide what to add. I had a few other tanks too, but decided to combine them into one big one. I'm a mom of two boys under 6, so things get a little too busy for multiple tanks unfortunately. I'm a big fan of the natural look and hope to create an underwater forest for my fish. Hoping to get a lot out of being a member here!
