  1. I’ll pick up some salt. Thank you
  2. I was away for work for a few days and came home to my puffer having this mark on the side of his face/cheek. He is the only thing in the tank so I guess he ran into either equipment or the drift wood in the tank. Should I treat the scratch? If so what should I use? He ate well this evening and my wife said he ate while I was gone too. Thank you in advance.
  3. Should I stop doing both Carbon and Easy Green?
  4. No, it’s been running for about 6 months. Nothing new added to the tank in the past four months and this algea started about 3-4 weeks ago. I dose easy green once per week(10ml) and easy Carbon daily(10ml). Both of these have been being dosed for four months since adding the plants.
  5. No smell. It is a black film on the very top of the sand. When I remove it it comes up as one sheet of algea
  6. I have these black spots that keep forming on my sand. I will clean the sand during my weekly water change but within a day they are back. Is this Cyano? It’s more black than any of the pictures I see. Thanks in advance.
  7. I have not. I’ll look into it.
  8. Thanks everyone. I ended up using a combo of super glue and twist ties and all the plants seem to be attached pretty well. I’ll get a picture tomorrow when the lights are on. Thanks again!
  9. I have a 120g(48x24x24) that currently houses a fahaka puffer. I have a Fluval FX6 on it for filtration. The flow is good but it leaves dead spots in the front center of the tank and along the back glass. I have a second FX6 that I could hook up, but I was wondering if this would be overkill and I should just get a powerhead/wavemaker? Any and all suggestions on best flow in this tank to keep the sand clean would be great.
  10. Good morning. I am wanting to add some Anubias to the drift wood in my 125g that is already up and running. What are some suggestions on how to attach the plants underwater? I have super glue and twist ties but wanted to get y’all’s feedback before I went and picked up the plants. Thanks in advance.
  11. Thank you. I’ll keep an eye on him.
  12. We took in a 8-10 month old Fahaka puffer about 2 months ago from another local hobbiest. Its eating great and everything seems to be fine with it, but I just found out that the original owner did not do any worm treatments(or any other meds) to it when it first arrived. Should I take the puffer through meds now? If so what meds? The puffer is in a 150g tank by itself with some pants. It's about 6-7" long and nice and fat with good coloration. It eats everything I put in the tank(claims, muscles, frozen crabs, etc.). Thanks in advance.
  13. Is it ok to use Easy Carbon with a Fahaka puffer? I have used Eash Carbon to treat excess algea in other tanks, but those fish had scales. I wasn’t sure if the carbon would affect the puffer differently. Thank you in advance!
  14. Thanks everyone for the warm greetings. This evening as my son and I were feeding his tank we discovered several baby Panda Corys. The guppies reproduce almost weekly, but these are the first Panda Corys we have had. They are small, but plenty big enough to not be eaten. For the big tank I ended up caving in and picking up a group of 6 1-1.5" Parachromis Multifasciatus like my son wanted. We are going to grow them out and keep a pair and a few friend are waiting in line to take the ones we decide to not keep. I'm sure the plants will slowly be picked off, but my son and I are excited to watch them grow and color up.
