I know I’m a year late to the conversation but I’ve been breeding multis in 6.8 ph and they are thriving. I’ve just recently sold a batch to my lfs. Not saying this will work for everyone (it won’t) just my experience

Thanks but I need to reference these books for a paper I'm writing so it would kinda need to be in English.

Hey does anyone know of good books on the aquarium hobby or even better books on wild caught fish in the aquarium hobby?

I’ve done the efficiency method with guppies but I now like the let them fend for themselves method, I do have plants with lots of root for them to hide in, hopefully one will survive to replace her. She is still kicking though

She hasn’t changed but I saw one fry swimming around and one just popped out.

my girl has been swimming like this since this morning I got her yesterday, I think it’s an issue with giving birth. You can see the baby’s eyes. Anything I can do for her?

Would the guppies not eat an baby multis?

I just miss stuff being delivered to a mail box or my front porch

I ended up getting them at 4:30 on Friday after standing in line for over an hour.
They have been really active, going in and out of their shells and exploring the tank but as soon as I point a camera at them, they freeze.

I got a text from usps that they arrived to my post office! But when I went to pick it up they said they haven't processed it yet and it could take a few hours and possibly over the weekend.

Ok. I don’t know how much of a difference this will make but they are in breather bags.

So I ordered some multis online and the seller said they would get to me on Thursday but the tracking number says they'll get here on Saturday at 9 pm. The problem is my mail closes on Friday at 5 and doesn't open till Monday. Will they be ok? Is there anything I should do?

That is strange, there should have been no difference between those different bottles.
Yeah, very strange, I guess I just got a bad batch the first time. It’s all good now. I really appreciate the easy customer service and all the help. Thanks!

I got a new test kit in today. Tested out of tap. The old test kit(bottom) shows around 6.8 while the new one (top) shows around 7.6. Also the new one does register a little chlorine (it doesn’t seem to show one camera for some reason) while the old one shows none. The tests do look slightly different in person I guess I have bad lighting or something. Also I tested with the api test kit and the new one is much closer to what it says than the old one. Very happy with the test kit. @Corythought you would be interested.

So I ordered some snails that were labeled as Malasian trumpet snails off eBay and these arrived. I have never seen malasian trumpet snails that look like this, they are bigger than the average mts and they are a lot thicker than mts of similar lengths. Any idea what exactly they are?

Something like a thermometer that I could put in a brine shrimp Hatcher and it tell me exactly how many baby brine there are and what percentage of the eggs hatched.

Neocardina shrimp should be fine at 8.0 in my opinion and the important thing with them is just stability, it doesn't really matter where their ph is as long as it is stable and they get calcium they should be happy. But if you want to lower ph I would suggest adding some type of leaf or wood or your liking.

@Cory I did some more testing, this time with bottle water I wanted to see if the problem was something in my tap water. They are still opposites so that eliminates the possibility that my tap water was messing it up, unless the bottled water has the same chemical that is in my tap that would be messing up the test, which I think is unlikely. Next I’m going to buy ro water and see how they compare with that.
Edit: I just noticed that the test strips are just registering the lowest on everything- 1

can you take the moss brige out
I can. I tried keeping it emerged for about a week but it didn’t really seem to effect it. It’s funny that you say you didn’t start getting staghorn algae until you started using easy green. I too just started using easy green, huh

Thanks. The problem area is in my moss bridge, will this treatment hurt the moss?
How do I get my fish store to carry coop products?

Hey, I work at a local fish store and I know that some stores have been picking up coop products, I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can find the application so I can pass it along to my boss. Thanks!
