PH 7.2 No Ammonia No Nitrate No Nitrite Tank has been cycled a long time ago. Tank has been running for over a year with no sick fish.
-
I'll give it a try thanks!!
-
Maybe but it is extremely bloated and the skin color is very white..
-
Hello Everyone, Overnight my Bristlenose developed this.. All water parameters are perfect... Any ID on what it could be??? * Yesterday the fish looked perfect.. It looks bloated and has red spots..🤕
-
Hello @AndEEss, That was a typo. My mistake... (Ammonia)
-
Hello @AndEEss I am not quite following what your saying. The bacteria feeds off the ammonia..
-
Hello @Patrick_G I'm trying to make a hardscape tank, so just rock and wood. Only plant life I have is algae
-
Hi @AndEEss, Yes im going to add more bacteria later on in the day. I hadn't really thought of the algae having an impact on my Nitrites. Thanks
-
Hello @AndEEss I initially had it at 4 PPM, I am going to put more in if needed, but the whole point of my post was that it's strange no Nitrites or Nitrates have shown yet. Directions Below: The Fritz Fishless Fuel formula contains 40 mg/mL TAN (total ammonia nitrogen.) Dosage / Instructions: To bring aquarium to 2 ppm ammonia: Add 4 drops per One U.S. Gallon (3.78 L) or 1 tsp (5 ml) per 25 U.S. Gallons (94.6 L) Fritz Fishless Fuel Ammonia Solution is to be used when performing a fishless cycle. Add required amount of Fritz Fishless Fuel Liquid Ammonia Solution to reach desired ammonia level (Fritz recommends 2-4 ppm). After adding ammonia add FritzZyme Nitrifying Bacteria and test daily. Once ammonia and nitrite levels are reading zero, livestock can be safely added. Continue to monitor ammonia and nitrite on a regular basis.

Hello All, I recently bought a new 55 Gal. tank. Its all set up with 2 filters (55 Gal Tidal & 45 Gal Ziss) and i started the cycling process. I added Fritz Fish Fuel Ammonia, it spiked the tank to 4 PPM. I also added the bacteria to the tank. Usually when I set up my tanks i can clearly see Nitrites &\ Nitrates in my Test results. However after about 3.5 weeks the ammonia has lowered down to almost .25 or lower yet i never saw any Nitrite Nitrates which i think is kind of odd.. There is wood in the tank which seems to have algae on it but I am not sure if I should start spiking the tank again to re-cycle it or not.. Has anyone experienced this? * I know I have to wait until ammonia hits 0PPM but with no Nitrite/Nitrate results I'm wondering if the tank has actually cycled correctly. *Also water still has lots of tannin in the water from the wood, that is why the greenish brown color is present in tank.

@xXInkedPhoenixXyes I did hahaha. I am very relieved and happy that my fosh are happy now!

Haven't had an update in a while.... it is fully cycled! All the fish are doing well. I would like to just thank everyone for the support!
-
**Update** It is finally starting to cycle!!!!! it took a long time but with persistent water changes I am finally starting to see nitrites. Thank you everyone for all the help!
-
*Quick Update* Still doing water changes.. Fish are acting normal BUT the PH dropped drastically today. No change in routine in the last couple weeks not sure why.. PH 6 KH 1 maybe 0... Not sure what happened I have been following everything to the T.
-
*Quick Update Post* Still doing the daily water changes! However fish are doing great!! Hoping that I'm getting closer!!
-
@xXInkedPhoenixX How often do you think i should do feedings? Cory says to not feed every day.. Maybe every 2-3???
-
@xXInkedPhoenixX @Cinnebuns Yes i am still doing water changes every day i just wanted to confirm with the last comment. I have been doing them the same time everyday and my daily readings show that the ammonia is now .5 every day from the 1 it was before. Hopefully in a couple more weeks it will be at 0. Thanks again
-
@Cinnebuns Water change every day?
-
(Update) I'm still doing a water change daily. Still no success in ammonia going down. Almost through the whole bottle. Hopefully things will start turning for the better soon.
-
@Chad Thank you for the info i will definitely keep everyone updated!
-
Thank you everyone! i think we solved the problem i appreciate the help!
-
@laritheloud Had the tank set up. Used API quickstart water got cloudy after a while.. Had nitrite and everything talked with my local fish store they said that was the sign of cycling thats when i added fish.. Im assuming im wrong
-
@xXInkedPhoenixX I think you may be correct. I did give it 4 weeks to have its first cycle but im think you may be correct.. I think me worrying and doing water changes every day is not helping. What steps are best to take? I use Fritz Aquatics Fritzyme 7, its Bacteria for the tank.. Since im somewhat of a NOOB can anybody give me advice to cycle again with fish.. I am willing to put the money and work into it.

@Biotope BiologistThank you for the response!

@Patrick_G One strange this is ive never had any algae.. my water has always been clear and im now wondering if my tank may have a cycling problem... could that be it
