  1. Thanks everyone for the great advice. Unfortunately my Cory didn't make it through the night. If this happens again, hopefully I'll be able to act sooner. Much appreciated.
  2. Hello everyone. Great community here, I've learned a lot but I still have a lot more learning to go. I got 6 Pygmy Corydoras a month ago. Since then 2 just died (a few weeks apart), and a third has this white spot on it's face that seems to be getting worse. The other three seem pretty happy and healthy. Water conditions based on testing strips seem okay, and the tetras and betta all seem to be doing fine. Any idea on what this is or if can I save the pygmy? I've isolated it in a plastic container and have it floating in my 10G tank. I've attached two photos. The first one was on Dec 2nd, the and the second is Dec 5th. You can see the white spot appears to have gotten worse. Thanks in advance! Joe
  3. I’m thinking of adding live plants to my 10 gallon tank. I have a very calm Berra, green neon tetras, and some Pygmy Cory’s. I’m pretty sure I’m slightly overstocked but I’m okay with weekly 25% water changes. If I add some plans (maybe java moss, frogbit, and java fern?) would I be able to add some Amano shrimp? If so how many could I do?
  4. Thanks for all the replies! I'll try finely crushing up some flake food for now and see how that goes. I hope the littler tetras are able to eat. I'm not sure if they're full grown yet, some definitely seem smaller than others. Also no cleanup crew yet, planning to get some Pygmy corys this weekend if a shipment comes into the store. Until then I guess it'll be a daily effort to clean all the left over food.
  5. Hello, I'm relatively new to fishkeeping and just got a small school of Green Neon Tetras. I purchased these at the Aquarium Co-op store in Edmonds along with the Xtreme Nano (0.5mm pellets) to feed the fish. However when I put the food into the tank, the tetras go to try to eat the pellets, but can't fit it into their mouths. So it just bounces away and lands on the bottom of the tank. Is there a smaller food I should be trying to feed the tetras? Thanks, Joe
