  1. G’day Oftensniped; I just put a Sicce Syncra Silent 1.5 in the internal filter of an 80 litre tank (20 gallon for those who prefer their units of measure to not have evolved since the 16th century). The thing can certainly does what it says on the box, pump. It was very quiet on full flow but I had to restrict the flow to prevent it creating a whirlpool that threatened to suck everything in the tank into a vortex in the nearest corner to the outflow…….not so silent now
  2. Assuming of course Lefty O I have any self control…. Defiantly scratches (multiple) Frumpweesle
  3. Just finished scaping and planting my second tank, very excited. Bought it secondhand off Gumtree to save a couple of bucks to spend on plants. It looked good, the guy even told my without prompting how “fastidious” he was about caring for the glass….should have been a warning, what Australian ever said “fastidious “. Two long vertical scrapes/scratches down the front glass became obvious the moment I filled the tank…I cannot unsee them (insert scream…sobbing) Do any of you fine people know if anything can be done¿ Do I have to seek a zen moment where I accept that I must have done something truely awful in a past life and karma has finally come visiting¿
  4. Ivan Mikoliji on YouTube has fantastic footage of snorkelling in the river systems of Venezuela.
  5. What a fantastic project, I love the development. Curiosity with commitment. Do you dive or snorkel the Sound?
  6. Fish tanks for renters. I’ve obviously been yearning for an aquarium without realising it… Salt water I’m afraid but will create something fresh water next
  7. Thanks for the welcome all. Your wife would be right OnlyGenusCaps, with our borders still closed getting out seems a distant dream. And that sounds like the voice of experience Atitagain…
  8. Hello All, New to the world of aquariums and fish keeping, and loving it all! Stumbled across aquascapes on YouTube then fell down the rabbit hole. First aquarium set up and the second in the works. I feel certain I’ll be strong enough to stop at two…well, maybe “certain” is a little too optimistic. Most in love with bringing nature into my home and the subtle way that it has changed the way I look at the world, the vastness of nature through the lens of a little glass box. So very glad to have come across Cory and the entire Aquarium Co-op crew, the open, honest and inclusive discussions made a step the could have felt daunting seem accessible. I am excited to see where this takes me.
