Today started as any other Sunday.. I awoke to the smell of coffee and breakfast, yes my woman spoils me.. slaps gut, see.. that there is called love.. So I jumped online, read a few political sites, jumped on Craigslist, kissed the woman as she was heading out to the store. Got another cup of coffee and started to read the adds.. I then stumbled upon an add that was selling Fish Tanks... Ok, I'm hooked (pun intended).. as I'm obsessing over 10g tank(s) at the moment.. Breeding session going on in my fish room.. 10g tanks are crack to me atm.. 😄 Anyway.. I click on the add and this guy was selling all his Fish Items.. (1) 65g - (2) 55g - (1) 30g - (1) 20g long - (2) 10g - (1) 5g & Misc parts.. OK this is either going to be very expensive, or he already sold them all.. Mind you I'm drooling over the (2) 10g tanks.. So I called this guy, which he ended up being 5mi from my house (major shocker there) and he told me IF I got there in the next hour, he will sell me all the tanks and Misc. parts for $80.. 😲 I think I told him, for which tank..? He replied.. ALL of them.. I'm moving and first load is headed out and so am I.. He then told me some other guy just called and was interested in the 65g. I said no problemo, I'm more interested in the 10's.. So long story short - (as possible) - I'm like yelling to my woman. Keys Keys.. lol.. Silence.. Ohh cr@p, she took the truck to get groceries.. Ok, calm down.. but noo, my OCD brain is telling me.. Get yer fat *** up and run forest run.. Ahh.. I called the guy back asked if would hold the 10's.. First come he replied, ahhh.. Ok Ok... I'll be right there.. Then he said i got another guy coming to get the 55g tanks.. im yea yea.. no biggie... Hang up, call the woman.. Voice mail.. WTF.. noo.. I'm now in Psycho ex-boyfriend mode.. Spam calling her 100x's.. No answer.. Ahh 😵 My brain is now telling me, if I get there and get all the tanks, I can sell the 65 & 55's for $175, that's food, pumps, tubing and more 10g tanks.. Now I'm even more anxious to get there and get all the tanks, not just the 10's.. OMG where is she.. ahhh 🤬 30mins pass... I'm now in the 5-stages of Grief.. as I've completely shut down, cold sweats, shaking in a huddled mess in the laundry room.. Tears are flowing, knowing I've loss something I've never even owned and or touched but the feelings I had, the excitement we shared, all the plans we made.. Why god.. why me.. why today.... Wait... Whats that.. It's her, she home !! Run Forest, run to her.. Run like you've never ran before... !! You've never been so happy to see her, tell her you love her, as your rip the keys from her hands.. Groceries go flying, you side arm your woman, like OJ Simpson running for a touchdown at USC.. Keys fumbling hand to hand as I slide into the truck.. Noooo, it's her house key, I snagged key from the wrong hand.. Ahhhh I wake up.. Wow, that was some dream I had.. Felt so real I say to myself as I'm looking at all the tanks, 3-HOB filter and a box full of fish items I've yet to go through... $80 bucks.. Not bad, Not Bad.. !! P.S. After the first call, the woman and I went and picked up all the tanks.. Thanks for reading my sad attempt to make fun of myself and make you laugh.. 🙂 -=[Peace

Just an FYI.. I would lay something down on the concrete, as concrete flooring will bring in lots of cold into that small space, more so than one would think.. I live in a snow zone, up in the mountains, and I used to keep Poison Dart Frog(s) out in my garage, a single car garage. I mistakenly thought by insulating the walls w/ R-19 would suffice, well it did to a degree (no pun intended), but it didn't keep the 40g water supply from freezing up on me. I kept the container on the ground under several of my vivariums next to the house wall, and yup, the water top layer froze up.. Not sure if your concerned w/ frozen water or not. My solution was to lay 1" x 2" boards out in a grid pattern on my floor, I then put R-19 insulation down and on top of that I put plastic wrap and then finally 1/2" plywood.. Worked out better than I though and now I'm actually saving more on heating that the cost of insulating walls/floor.. Now, Cost is a thing these days and I get that, so I would just go around to a local hardware store and ask for throw away foam board, or construction site trash is an always go to.. The picture I edited. trying to make a sharper image, as my camera was on a bad setting.. but, these 2 boys came to the property 2yrs in a row. Last year, they had a female w/ them.. There currently is a bear warning in my area. I guess this bear is thrashing about.. Love to get some pic of him.. I used to Hunt a lot, I do miss the week long trips w/ my bros... Anyway... Wow.. I'm going to use/steal a lot of these ideas.. I love DIY... My contribution is : I love plants, so I make simple Pothos holders out of foam & that plastic like foam. Cut into circles, make a slice into the center (see pic below) and slide the pothos into it, wrap w/ rubber band and I use a clip to connect the the aquarium side.. Lots of roots for the fish to swim in and makes it look kinda cool..

If I remember correctly, the glass I got was 3/16.. Don't quote me on that, but for some reason, that stick in my brain atm.. 🙂 FYI : I did buy a lotto ticket, and the Lotto commission called me and said I owe them 24 million, yea that's my luck. heh

Plant looks to be an Amazon Sword.. ?? I think I feel ya on the sending someone to a LFS for you.. I sent my woman out few months back, to snag some Pleco food for me.. She bought a Pleco.. /Slaps forehead..

So this past Sunday I happened to visit (2) local thrift shops, not by choice but, the little woman dragged me along.. 🙂 Anyway.. The first store, I strayed off course from my girlfriend and found myself staring at (2) 10g tanks.. One had a note inside saying NO FISH.. Odd.. So i picked both of them up for.. ready for this.. $5 for both.. I showed the check out person the note and said well.. ill have to fix it would ya take $5 for both... Yup SCORE... 2nd store.. By this time I'm like a 5yr old, as my woman is dragging me up n down the isles, as I just wanted to go home and check out my new tanks. Again, I wonder off... and what do I see.. ?? more tanks.. WTF, I'm like OK, I'm buying a lotto ticket on my way home.. One was a 20g tall, back of it was cracked pretty bad, the other was a 5g that was nasty with old hamster bedding.. Me, I'm like Score.. I'm looking around and moved a box to the side, and BOOM.. a whole box of Filter Cartridges (Large) 8-packs.. I'm like yea, these are opened and all full of crayons or something.. Nope, no sir, all un-opened. 6 boxes worth.. SO now I'm debating the 20g.. But I took it 🙂 The last haul I ended up paying $10, I couldn't believe my luck.. I stopped in at Lowe's, asked for them to cut me a piece of glass for the 20g, and now it's in the garage drying.. Man.. What a haul.. and I thought I'd share w/ you guys.. If yer low on cash, and have a Sunday afternoon to kill, check out yer local thrift shops, as they get a lot of items every-day... I think this will be my Sunday routine.. Ohh and I did go buy a lotto ticket.. 🎫

I thought it time to say 'Hello". I've read these forums for a while now, watched just about EVERY YT video Cory & the Co'Op push out and figured I'd say how much I appreciate all of your posts/vids etc.. +1 community... I learn a lot from you all ! I'm currently running (4) tanks, (4) vivariums, I raise meal worms, crickets, springtails and (3) species of isopods (rolly poly). The tanks house a rescued pair of feeder goldfish, which are about 6" long and spoiled, some Mollies as well as Bettas & Guppies. oh and a 10g full of Pink Ram Horn Snails mixed w/ Pond snails, which I feed to my ghost shrimp.. The kid at the LFS gave me 25 ghost shrimp last year, they mark them under 'Feeder Shrimp' and he said they don't sell so take some.. Well ok, FREE is always good and an excuse to buy more tanks 🙂 Back in the day, early 90's, I used to breed a lot of fish/snails insects etc. back when the internet consisted of running down to a local store and snagging a few AOL disks to get free times on the internet, yada yada.. So obviously, there wasn't much of an online community, other than looking up old friends from school etc.. So I sold a lot to a LFS, in return I would get food/supplies etc. >> FFW to today and I'm finding myself back into the hobby. Found one of ACO vids on YT and was hooked.. I've recently moved up into the mountains here in Arizona, so finding anything is next to impossible. We have 1 LFS and I'm not paying double/triple the price of things, so I like to toss my $$ over Corys way and support the online community with my $$ that i know appreciate my business. Speaking of orders, I've got another order from the Co'Op on it's way up to me, and I don't know what I'm more excited about... The food for my fry/fish or the Sticker !! It's almost an obsession now w/ me.. Order something from the store and see which stickers I get, like old school baseball card collection(s). 🙂 anyway.. I'm in no way an expert on ANYthing, thus me lurking here and looking up things on the go.. SO again, I appreciate the community and just figured I'd FINALLY jump in and say HI..
