  1. I got them at petco while i was there because my daughter wanted to go in and i juat couldnt say no to them. All of the pics ive seen of the false show more of a line pattern on the body rather than dots but these have dots. Either way i love the way they look.
  2. So i recently bought a group of 6 of these little ones and they were sold as julii but after watching the recent member talk I am now unsure if they are true julii or if they are trilineatus. What do you guys think?
  3. I got into the hobby in around may of 2021. My now almost 3 year old daughter had a heart transplant in april of 2021 and with that comes the anti rejection meds and a lower immune system. Her transplant team told us that the only pets she can ever keep are dogs and fish. Ive always kinda wanted to get into the hobby but after hearing that she could only ever have fish and dogs i figured it would be a great time to learn everything i could and get into it. My daughter loves all the tanks we now have. It has become a definite addiction of mine and I love it. As far as my favorite fish thats kinda tough. I absolutely love my little murder beans (pea puffers), but recently ive fallen in love with my chilli rasboras
  4. Ok so i have a 55 gallon. Its one of those kits you can buy. I have had it for awhile and plan on keeping it. I also have 3 29 gallon tanks, 4 10 gallon, and one 5 gallon tank so not going to downgrade from the 55 in the future. The 55 is the only tank that has just the basic led in the lid that you get with the kit, i plan on getting glass lids and getting a new light for it. I am waiting for the aquarium co op light to release for obvious reason. My question is should i go with 1 48 in light or 2 of the 24 in lights since the tank has the center brace. Pic is the 55 after a recent rescape
  5. So i have a 55 gallon that has 2 boesmani rainbows. Plan on getting 4 more so there area a total of 6. Had them and the tank for awhile but money got tight and wasnt able to fully stock. Money is getting better now and i was wondering on recomendations for. Good small achooling fish that i could keep with them in the 55. What species and how many? Thanks for the recomendations. I was leaning towards chili rasboras. But not sure how many would be an acceptable amount and if they would be ok in a large group with the rainbows.
  6. ill have to give the bamboo sticks a try. ive tried roling some small pvc in the repashy and freezing it to feed to my otos but as soon as it thaws in the aquarium it ends up just coming rite off
  7. I will deffinitely update with progress. My thinking is once the monte carlo and moss grow enough there should be enough hiding spots for the shrimp to hide and for the ones that dont hide then ill just call it population control. Overall i think they will be fine tho
  8. they are going into a shrimp tank i set up. Wanted something other than just the shrimp and i know these look really nice when they get all colored pu
  9. ok cool. just wanting to make sure before i go out and get some
  10. So ive heard that they pretty much only like to eat mid water. My question is what if i put a feeding dish suction cupped to the side of the tank about mid water? Would they eat repashy from that since its mid water?
  11. UPDATE: Did the tweezer trick once and now they love them. All i have to do is drop it in now and they go after it. think they just needed to get the taste for them
  12. Ill give that a shot and see what happends. Time to experiment
  13. Trying to get rid of a bid of black beard algae on the roots of some of my floating plants. I remember hearing something about peroxide killing it off. If i were to do a dip does anyone know the ratio for the peroxide to water?
  14. Ok so heres the final update on this. The plattys were more interested in eating the tiny baby snails than the worms so i ended up taking them out and just removing all planta and doing a 100% water change and vaccuming them all out. Was a good idea but my plattys did not want to cooperate
  15. so far i havent seen more worms than before. hard to tell if there is less since there was so many. but plattys seem to happy. only downside is the platys seem to be snacking on the small baby snails as well. put them in a few days ago so hasnt been that long. will update again in a few days
  16. ive tried thawing it. I havent tried the baster yet. ill give that a try.
  17. Any one have any ideas on how to get my pea puffers to eat frozen blood worms? Currently they seem to only want to eat the snails that i have and bbs. I have 6 in my 29 gallon and there is 1 that will come up and eat 1 blood worm but the rest just dont even look at it.
  18. ok i will go ahead and grab some of my platys from their tank and let them feast for a bit. there are actually ALOT of snails in the tank since it is my breading tank for them. ill wait on meds and just see how the plattys do.
  19. i may just dose some dewormer to be safe. I have hydra in all of my tanks so may just wipe that all out while im at it.
  20. thats what i was thinking but wasnt sure. My eyes arent what they used to be for sure, so its hard to see head shape on them. they seem to have showed up out of no where yesterday didnt notice them. now today they are everywhere in the tank. may toss a few of my plattys in there and let them feast for a bit
  21. So i just looked at my 10 gallon that i breed all of my snails for my pea puffers in and noticed that these little guys are absolutely everywhere. its a bare bottom 10 gallon with alot of bladder snails and 5 cherry shrimp. Is this something i should be concerned about?
  22. it has turned out better than i had hoped. I really like the black sand. My only issue is how much the fish poop stands out against it lol. Makes my job harder to keep it looking clean.
