  1. https://youtu.be/JVSxISBbmOg For a display yes. But raising fry it gets harder to feed them.
  2. Ok I see 2 problem, you got too many breeder in the aquarium. I recommend 2 pair. 2nd problem your aquarium is too big for new born fry to find food. Some may survive but it'll be harder to target feed
  3. Sorry for the late comments, I just seen it just now These fish belong in the catawba river system. Only a few select area will hold them tho. It may change as it rain also
  4. Yea its easier that way but some of the nutrients is lost..imagine eating a dry salad
  5. Same goes for female, some female will breed better quality fish or more quality you are looking for, but since female guppies are harder to tell. I would judge them base on conformation and color last. I use to breed gold body red grass and I kept 2 male and 6 female. Each female get their own tank and spend about 2 days with the males. Long story short even sister won't breed the same quality. Pick the female you like and get rid of the rest.
  6. Shrimp and snail love it..but I would freeze it or dry it for them..they like it when it's more decay
  7. Just make a very small batch and see who will take to it..it may surprise you lol
  8. Correct! Duckweek is a very good plant matter decently high in protein, and omega 3 fatty acids...great for fish and other animals even us humans. It's known as "eggs of water" in Thailand. Our mind keep thinking it's more of a pest plant but it's ready not.
  9. So the fish I have can some what filter feed, not as good as gold fish but enough to clean everything within mins
  10. I posted it on the Facebook group already but though I should share it here also Did you know most fish will eat duck weed if you set it up properly for them? I blend up my duckweek real fine with some water and a few drop of Vita Chem. It's best to feed immediately or it will go sour. It's a great source of fiber, protein, all natural, almost unlimited source of food. My white cloud, rosy barb and rainbow shiner love it
  11. Sweet! Looks like you have having fun. I'm on the hunt for some saffron shiner this year but the more yellow.
  12. They look big enough, if you do add them in add them in at night so they all wake up together
  13. Take some photo and share the hard work. My cross to Hawaii stock did do as well as I wish. They kick out almost 25-30% shortfin and some of the longfin have clamped tail.
  14. They are easier to breed but take a very long time to get to size sale or breed, and they are pretty popular right now. 9$ for adults seem fair
  15. I recommend less fish per setup, more breeder will just start a feeding frenzy. temperature doesnt really matter to them, itll just speed up or slow down the hatch rate by 1 day.
  16. I have bred an almost all black golden white cloud and they are weaker fish, so I don't recommend it. It could be cancer just like platies and swordtail black marking
  17. It's normal for longfin goldfish, if you are worry I would do, 3-5% salt for a week or so. The way fancy goldfish swim with longer fin normally cause alot of stress compare to normal comets
  18. Thats normal in golden white cloud..some are just cleaner than other
  19. My line breed earlier than normal, do you have a photo of your fish? And setup?
  20. Shrimp with eat their eggs forsure Since you are working with a larger aquarium itll be very hard for the new born fry to get enough food even if they hatch out.
