Have the tank covered for complete darkness, will keep it this way for 48 hours. Then add more decorations back into the tank and the light is only running at 25% when I was running it.

Tried that. Actually started that way. Was suggested by the breeder that the object might be what is stressing them as they were grown in a 275 gallon tank.

Bought a group of breeding Blue Dolphin online from a very good breeder. They were the only fish in a cycled tank. All they did was group up in the tank in one corner. I felt bad. I went and bought 8 silver dollars as dither fish. They just joined them in the huddle!!!. I ran the tank 4 days no light. Took all decorations out, tried just some decorations no luck. I am at my wits end. Water parameters are all good. They do eat IF the food pass by the cluster but will not Attack the food. My next though is to cover the tank in a blanket to stop ALL light from getting into the tank for a few days but feel this wont help either. Please help!!

Now we have a before and after. This gives more real-estate to the shellies and less for the cave dwellers. Also added sand. Lets see if this stops the behavior.

I have a tank of shell dwellers with other Lake T fish in there with them, cave dwellers, and the sardines. I just witnessed a shellie eating the fry of well another shellie. I thought they didn't eat their own. Now I can prove different. Do I remove the bad fish?

I seems his slime coat is being attacked? Can someone help identify and suggest meds please. White specs in water is paracleanse I added as a first step.

I am receiving two types of Lake tanganyika fish, one a shell dweller. Lamprologus Gold Ocellatus and the other a cave dweller Julidochromis Ornatus I am looking for mid and upper water swimmers to complete the 75 gallon lake tanganyika tank.

Would Like to get a mate for this fish but not sure if it is male or female.

I have a 75 Gallon I want to set up for a shell dweller tank. However I know this tank is wayyyyyy to large for this to look right. I have seen videos of tanks with open sand areas for the shell dwellers and the other half with rocks for other cichlids. What can I put together to maximize the use of the tnak and make it look interesting. I would like to do just two species, One shell dweller one .... well, that is what I am looking for.

In a 75 gallon Mbuna tank. How much of a wave do they like? Should this just be aimed to the surface? Could I do a dual head one aimed at the surface the other at the sub straight. I like to use the current to insure the waste gets pushed out of areas not easy to clean.

Got my tank stocked with MBuna babies. Inch to 2 inches, young ones from various fish stores. What small pellet do you guys feed your small MBuna? I know it should be veggie based. I just want to make sure, 1. they will eat it and, 2. they will get the most benefit from it.

Got it all running fairly smooth, there are two bad genetics rainbow fish and a discus on the bottom of the feeding ladder that is super timid. But I am trading it all for a breeding school of German Red and some blood dragons. Plants are my concern as I prefer the live ones as you can see. I like the personality of the cichlids over the discus. I feel discus are the cats of the fish world where are cichlids are the dogs. I'm a dog person.

Cam you list the live plants that can be used? Can you also link the videos?

So I know you cant put real plants in a full sized peacock/hap cichlid tank. So, where can I find top quality silk plants that are large and full for my 150 that I am converting?

So if I wanted to build my own tank, and I mean the tank itself. What kind of glass do I ask for? What vendor do I seek out? Where would I find the spacers they use to keep the panels from touching?

Everytime I gravel vac, every day most days or at the most every other day. I have been noticing these tiny white worms in the gavel each time I vac. Are they bad worms or good worms or what should I do? Tiny white wigglers. Drives me crazy with worry.
