  1. I spied, with my eye, a third little fry. Smaller than the other two, not yet showing any blue.
  2. Baby alert! There's at least two white cloud fry swimming around in the top of the tank. It's the same corner I found Goby in. I know it's mostly coincidence, but it makes me feel a little better.
  3. I guess that makes sense. I'm just a curious mad scientist, and as noted, not all seltzer are equal in carbonation, so I wondered if there's easy ways to increase it. I guess just buying the bubbliest from the beginning is easiest.
  4. I've heard some nerite snails like to eat mineral deposits, but I haven't kept one yet
  5. Has anyone tried adding liquid co2 booster to the seltzer water? For maximum co2!
  6. I will see how quickly it goes flat, then probably top it up occasionally with sparkling. Depending how it goes
  7. The title says it all. Here is my starting amount. Let's see how big it gets. Should be ideal conditions right?
  8. Happy Halloween everyone. This tank seems to be going well. I made my vampire shrimp a new cave and she immediately took to it. It's hard to see in the pic but she's in there. Also discovered my camera's negative mode, which seemed Halloween appropriate.
  9. Well. I'm pretty sad. I found Goby dead today. She was acting normal as recently as last night. No changes in water parameters. Everyone else is fine. I really don't know what happened. My only thoughts are maybe she somehow accidentally choked on a mini ramshorn. Or she just happened to be an older goby when she came to me and it was her time. I'd like to think that. But it still feels terrible. I took pictures if anyone wants to attempt diagnosing but I won't post them without prompting. She looked normal. Just not moving and no life in her eyes. Didn't respond to stimuli. Finally flipped upside down when pulled out of the corner. Put her in a separate bucket. Stayed upside down. No movement or response. Buried her in the garden. She brought plenty of joy. I hope I didn't unknowingly cause her demise somehow. RIP
  10. I had a bullyish male in my group of 8. I added 6 more and he found his happy place
  11. Vampire shrimp in the early morning before the lights turn on.
  12. I'd like to try keeping American/Florida flag fish some day.
  13. I have a stiphodon ornatus female and I love her. She's queen of my white cloud tank. I hope you enjoy. I noticed mine loves grazing on wood, or more likely whatever grows on the wood
  14. Love the look of them, but I know they need more space than I have currently. I'll have to live vicariously 👍
  15. Haven't shown an updated pic of this tank recently. I just cleaned the glass so seems like a good time. Currently still obsessed with the new shrimp.
  16. The new vampire shrimp seems to be settling in. Not as super shy as I thought it might be. Forgive my glass, I need to clean it. I'm thinking of calling it Dr. Zoidberg.
  17. So I got a couple aquarium coop heaters recently, and I figured since I now have the amazing technology of warmth, I would add a new member to the invert tank: vampire shrimp! He/she is an awesome blue color, and after drip acclimating has now taken up residence in the tank. It's awesome to watch it wave its little fan hands. Hopefully it gets comfortable. I know they are shy. It is currently under a rock cave near the front of the tank.
  18. Tanks can be very calming. If you want to try live plants, get an anubius, lightly super glue to a rock and plop it in wherever you like. I'm my experience the co-op's anubius is death proof
  19. Slightly new look for this tank. I added some wood to tame the hornwort without having to wedge it in down low, because it tends to die at the bottom when I do that. I like the foresty look. Also there is a shrimp molt caught in all the moss/algae on that stick in the right center (if you're wondering).
  20. Did some work on the jar, and an oak leaf for both jar and bowl. Plans are to season these for shrimp, partially freeing up my 25 gallon for fish.
  21. Do you think this bowl could be used to breed my white clouds? As in put a pair in to spawn and then put them back in the main tank. Hope the eggs hatch in the bowl, then raise the fry in there until they're big enough to join the rest. Would I need to add a small air stone, or is it ok as is? Or is it not the appropriate environment. @WhitecloudDynasty
