Swapped one anubius "tree" with one from the other tank, and moved my panda garra in here recently. The white clouds were stealing his food, but the endlers are too polite to steal from shrimp so he seems like he'll be happier here. Hard to get a pic of him when he's in zoom mode, but I got him lurking like a distant shark.

Just catching up on your journal. Tank looks great as always. I adore your garra.
Thank you, he's an awesome guy. I actually just moved him a couple days ago to my other tank, because the minnows kept stealing his food pellets. He seems pretty pleased with the move.

I haven't been particularly happy with this tank for a while, so I decided to do a lil re scape. Moved my filter and heater to one side and I think it helps a lot.
Also big news for this tank is I got some awesome endlers ❤ Started with 4 adults and 4 fry and they have built up a nice colony. The cherry shrimp don't seem to be suffering at all, if anything they enjoy the extra food.
Still need to work on filming 😋

I have coveted these guys as well, look forward to seeing them in your care.
Hope you feel better soon

I have seachem flourite black as well, I like it, but it is rather fine and could probably stand to be mixed or layered with something with a larger grain for optimal planting

Does your panda garra have any favorite foods? I tried to give mine a green bean once but he never really seemed to notice it. Loves his pellets though

Between 3 and 5 is probably good

You can try pushing one root tab as deep as possible and see how it goes. If you have aquarium coop root tabs they become a kind of foam that just sits on the substrate in the couple cases I didn't push mine deep enough. Pretty easy to clean and not toxic

I have one assassin in each of my bigger tanks, it's always exciting to actually see one of them lol.

Love a free snail. Most of my bladder snails are descended from one hitchhiker.
I named him Pete, hence they are all referred to as Petes

Back after a lengthy absence. Things going pretty good in this tank right now. A little while ago successfully raised another baby white cloud, putting the current count at 14.
Also a little while ago finally did get a panda garra. It's been doing really well and I'm super happy to have him in the tank. Outgoing but not boisterous, and lots of fun to watch.
Plants have obviously changed a little, and I finally upgraded to led grow lights a little while ago. Still cherry shrimp and pink ramshorns doing their thing as well.

I have had various snails with my white cloud minnows and it's never been a problem

I saw that some time has pasted. Do you have danios and mystery snails together now? I was wanting to put gold ring danios (if I can find them) and celestial danios with a mystery snail and wondered the same thing.
I never did put any together. I've heard gold rings and celestial are on the smaller peaceful side

Been a little while. I recently got a Japanese trap door snail, and I think she came pregnant. Today I spotted what I believe are two babies, who don't match the appearance of any other snails in the tank and look basically like little versions of the big momma.
Any thoughts @Guppysnail (or others)?
First pic is the big one, other two are suspected babies.

Well, ups and downs in this tank in the past months. I lost three adult white clouds from different causes. I've been checking water parameters and nothing has changed.
However, all 4 fry from the grow out bowl have successfully moved back to the big tank.
I've rearranged things slightly. Have some cholla wood and a broad leaf bolbitis obscuring the filter/heater corner now. Bolbitis is sprouting babies. Salvinia minima doing well up top. Also have some red root floaters on the left coming in. Everything seems pretty to be going pretty well, minus the losses.
I'm considering adding a panda garra but haven't decided yet. There's hardly any shrimp in this tank anymore so I'm not worried about conflict there.

In the past I've used paraguard and it seems like a good option.
(I've also used "no planaria" powder, which worked for planaria. But Idk if it would help your situation)

Found Doug sleeping in one of the Amazon sword runner plants. Then he woke up and saw Jade below him and decided to drop in. And I actually managed to record it. With a brief appearance from Earl at the end.

Po the panda garra at mealtime with his new non bully friends. He hasn't shown any interest in pursuing shrimp or endler fry.
