I think that may be the case. Parents are still young. I'm surprised mom dropped the eggs already. I actually thought she was a male because she is much larger then the other 2 in the tank. But at least I have a pair. The female has been picking at them recently so maybe they may not make it. But I hope 1 or 2 survive.

I got the stand from craigslist for free. The guy said that it held his 75g tank in the ad, but I just picked it up off the curb. I don't have a 75 but I'd like to get one. Currently I only have a 55g but have the same stand.

Hi my electric blue acara just laid eggs about 36 hours ago. It's the first spawn. They are sort of turning white, does that mean they are rotting? Mom is still guarding them.

Would a stand that's is 48x16 be able to hold a 75 gal tank, measuring 48x18? I have a stand for my 55g that is 16" wide and would like to get a bigger tank but don't know if I can just use the old stand. What if I get a piece of plywood 48*18 and place it under the tank that should support the extra 2in. Or do I need a new stand?
