    Flashing?

Hope that you don't. I recently lost a whole fish tank to ich after seeing a couple flashing. I didn't treat fast enough.

    Flashing?

Like the fish are trying to scratch themselves by rubbing their bodies along the plants, substrate, or other things in the tank.
  3. I've used traps with pretty good success. I just didn't like the idea of putting anything in the water to kill them. Plus I have snails, and didn't want to hurt them. The traps are cheap, and work pretty well to seriously cut down the population.
  4. Hey everyone! So I have a 40 gallon breeder, and I have 4 midsize sponge filters in it across the back. I also run a small internal filter just to put floss in to "polish" the water. I have 24 danios, 10 brilliant rasboras, and a Bolivian Ram. Oh, and a few snails. So I'm wondering if it's possible to over filter. I know that's a lot of sponge filters. They are the Co-Op midsize ones. I think they're the "up to 20 gallon" ones. Opinions?
  5. So I have the newest version of the test strips. I compare them against my Tetra ones. Also, when I didn't get results, I tested with the API master kit (Nitrates only). I do get color change, but not much. According to the API, and Tetra, my Nitrates are higher. Around 40ppm. But with the Co-Op strips, it only shows 10-20ppm. I follow the directions on the bottle. I have tried a few different times, a few different tanks. But it just doesn't register as high as the others. Could it be my batch of strips? I've been very careful not to let any water or dampness get into the bottle, so it's not that. Ideas?
