  1. I personally don't worry unless it gets near 50ppm nitrates, but 40ppm might be safer...who knows. The tank looks great1
  2. I'd be surprised if you were blocked for asking the same question unless it was really overboard, and even then I feel like they would have warned you first. Honestly the forums are much better for asking questions in my experience, Cory tries his best to answer all he can, but there's just no way questions wont slip through the cracks. Good luck!
  3. Their hodge podge of fish crammed into small spaces reminds me of when I was a kid trying to keep fish.
  4. Welcome! You will get great advice here 🙂
  5. Sounds like you are more prepared than we were! You got this. 🙂
  6. Our female explores the whole tank, I think the 20 high will be perfectly fine!
  7. I'm sure the Betta will not mind a bigger tank! You could potentially do a betta sorority tank with a 20 high. We love our female betta we got from AquaHuna.
  8. The tank is well planted, but I could probably do with more hardscape. I do have one of co-op's Shrimp Caves.
  9. We're going to put them in with our green neons I think. I think babies would be safer with them than with our ravenous guppies! Right now its just 8 green neons, so I think they'll be a nice fit. We considered blues because they are so dang pretty, but they're a little more expensive and we have a bad track record with shrimp. (We tried Tangerine Tiger caradina shrimp once before).
  10. Thanks for the info, y'all! We decided to go with cherry shrimp instead!
  11. If they come in 1/2" would you grow them out a bit before adding them to fish? I'm thinking even at 1/2 inch they should be good to grow out in our green neon tank.
  12. We are considering getting some Amano shrimp to help with some algae problems (and just enjoy because we think they're cool). Checking our sources I'm getting mixed messages. Some say they should be kept in an invert only tank because fish will eat them, and some say they can live fine with fish. It looks like most places you order them from they come 1/2" and grow to 3. Should we grow them out larger before adding them to community tanks? Are they social at all or can they live alone in a community tank? Any other Amano info is greatly appreciated.
  13. Watched that last night ❤️ I have some good options I use with my friends. 🙂
  14. Merry Fishmas and a happy Nerm Year!
  15. I've been having a hard time mustering up Christmas spirit this year. 🙂
  16. I've watched this movie DOZENS of times, but today I noticed....(Miracle on 34th Street)
  17. https://aquahuna.com/products/neon-tetra I have had good luck with Aquahuna, and you can use the code: aquariumcoop to save an extra 5%.
  18. I'm trying my hand at it too, and the route we've decided to go with was buying some mutts from breeders. We tried some box store guppies and they all died fairly quickly. Once I'm comfortable with what Im doing, we may buy a pair/trio and line breed but if you're like me you'll get attached to the mutts. 🙂
  19. Not that I've noticed. I keep a flow valve on all ours as well.
