  1. Sure you can post video links. Please do! I love me some guppies.
  2. Welcome! I too enjoy both fish and video games 🙂
  3. We had a 10 gallon set up and cycled we had just moved snails into that we wanted to protect from the Yakuza, so our older males went in that one.
  4. Sorry for the low quality, but we've made some changes in our guppy project. Moved our males into another 10 gallon tank with our snails, and got some new genetics in to start colony breeding. This little guy (top right) is one of our males we left in to mix genetics with.
  5. Welcome back to the hobby, and welcome to the forum!
  6. I think you'll be fine. In my limited experience, unless you have jumping fish even a tank with a rim will keep most stuff in. Granted I haven't kept shrimp long, but ours are just in a tank with floaters...no lid.
  7. Great tank, that driftwood really sets it off.
  8. Welcome! There's lots of great advice here. I'd start by asking you what interests you as far as the hobby? What fish have you been thinking of? My biggest general piece of advice is study up on cycling tanks. It was one of my biggest hurdles when we got started.
  9. I use a nano sponge filter in my growout tub, but still lots of water changes.
  10. D Grey has great vids about breeding!
  11. Welcome fellow Texan, I'm near Beaumont.
  12. Awesome recipients! Good job guys, can't wait to see the goodies!
  13. All good answers, I'll add Pothos. I really think you can't go wrong.
  14. I'm following this thread because this interests me too. I did find this PDF that helped me understand the basics. https://www.myaquariumclub.com/images/fbfiles/files/GuppyGeneticsPrimer.pdf
  15. Cardinal Tetras are some of the coolest schooling fish, in my humble opinion. Although I might do green or regular neons in a 20g for more numbers. If you're looking for sheer numbers, chili rasboras are great too, you could do quite a few in a 20g.
  16. While I can't recommend box store guppies, Petco sells "Yin Yang" male guppies. We had no luck keeping ours alive, but he was gorgeous.
  17. We haven't updated this journal in a long time, so I figured it was time. Some of you know we picked up a gorgeous lady betta from AquaHuna. She's living with a few bladder snails and seems very happy and healthy! Her favorite foods so far are vibrabites and frozen brine shrimp. ❤️
  18. If you're not going to grab a betta locally, I highly recommend AquaHuna. They have a livestream where you can choose your betta, and it really lets you check out the colors and mannerisms up front. You can also use the coupon code "aquariumcoop" for an extra 5% discount! Good luck!
  19. Just checking the specs, it looks like a solid setup. You could do shrimp, a betta, maybe some celestial pearl danios. Snails would be fun too!
