  1. After living next to both oceans most of my life, I struggle to find water featured enjoyment here in N. Idaho. Hence, I find my enjoyment of aquarium-keeping growing exponentially - especially in the winter and especially now that I've found you'all AND survived my first three years of newbie ownership. My confidence is growing so I jumped at the chance to start a 2nd tank. But it's not growing that much - I mean, even the idea of having TWO fish tanks (let alone 127?) was eye-opening not too long ago. I'm still doubting myself and my skills, but I'm getting better at trusting the test scores. I could have really used this journal the other day because I tried the blanched/frozen zucchini slices in both my tanks for the first time and, U was sad that nothing happened in the first 2 hours. But then, when I got home from work . . . .? They were both all gone!! Just the half-rind, smiling at me all happy. I danced a jig so hard, but nobody around me "got it". Guess I had to be here 🙂 Right now I'm struggling with conflicting priorities, but am looking forward to keeping this journal a few times a week as I progress in my journey and looking forward to reading others' journals/posts, too! Meliora, ya'll.
  2. @StreetwiseThis is my first night on the platform. I'm still learning - sorry if this isn't the right forum. I'm attempting to reply to your Sept. 2020 comment about starting a tank journal. I am going to keep looking, but I'm not finding where to go on here for that. Also, sorry if you're not an admin - if you can direct me to the proper place, much obliged! Thanks, R.
  3. Hello, I was introduced to the hobby by someone giving me 7 baby molly/platy fish in a small container about 3 years ago. So, via Craigslist I quickly found & purchased a 12-yo girl's 20 gal neon tetra tank - she was looking to get out of the hobby and her and her family gave me EVERYTHING they owned for $150? I think? It came with amano shrimp and 3 neon tetras, all the chemicals, a handmade, poly-urethane stand, 3 food grade buckets, etc etc. I added my platy/molly and a bristlenose pleco and thought I ruled the world. Little did I know. . . After finding your youtube channel, and girl talk fish's channel last year, I have learned SO MUCH. Live plants, water cycle, hard/soft, ph, logging my test results - oh, my! Now, I have a successful 20 gal community tank and just started a 10 gal cold water tank last month. Looking forward to learning more about this journal concept. Not sure I can be part of the 1-hour a day challenge this time around, but maybe next time. Pics are from when I FIRST go the tank. Will have to grab new ones for you next time. Cheers.
