  2. I have an apisto in a heavily planted 75 with rainbows, neons, rummy noses and emerald corys. He's never bothered anyone and has been an upstanding citizen.

    Apisto Eye Issue

Old bump here. This apisto pulled through, but now he is a belly slider. He has to work very hard to get off the substrate, then he gently floats back to the bottom. He's activity level is relatively normal and he is eating regularly. Could this be a lingering issue from his eye infection? Swim bladder problem?
  4. My emerald corydoras laid eggs on New Years Eve. I pulled them and have them in a grown out 10 gallon. There are 19 of them and they are growing fast. Does anyone have any advise on when it is best to add them to my display 75 gallon? Maybe there are only obvious answers like "when they are large enough to not get eaten" but is there any other advise out there? It's a peaceful community tank with rummy nose, bosemanis and seven corys - and one very peaceful apisto. My thought is to move them when they are larger than the apisto's mouth, but I looking for additional advise. This is my first batch of fry. Thanks!

You think Ich-X? I have him in a hospital tank now with some salt and the maracyn.

    Apisto Eye Issue

Hey All. I've got an apisto that has developed an eye issue. Temp: 80 F Ammonia: 0 Nitrite: 0 Nitrate 20 He seems to be eating and his activity level is normal. I have the med trio at my disposal to help combat the issue. My quarantine tank is full of fry, but I can grab another spare 10 gal to treat him in if need be. Any thoughts?
  7. I had a very similar experience with Rummy Nose. I bought two schools - around 15 each time - and lost all of them in quarantine. This was from two different LFSs. My third try, I just threw them into the display tank without quarantining and kept an extra close watch on the tank. That was about 3 months ago and I haven't had any problems. I know it isn't the best approach, but I felt the need to try something different.
  8. I agree with @BNye. Look a lot like nerite eggs to me
  9. Any thoughts on this Apisto? We've had him about 6 months and I cannot for the life of me recall what species he is. Shout out to the Coops dwarf lily in the background
  10. Otos. I might as well build little coffins whenever I buy some.
  11. Hi all. Need some help with IDing some algae. Seems like a hair algae. Not sure if it is staghorn or something else. It isn’t so much on the wood or glass, but loves growing on the plants. Thanks for any help
  12. I’ve stopped trying to keep Otos. I’m basically a funeral factory for them. I can’t figure out what I am doing wrong so I’ve just moved on

    White Spot ID help

Thanks Ben. I’ve been treating with Ich X since Sunday and there has been a great improvement. Thanks for the reply
  14. Hi all. I’ve noticed a white spot on a rummy nose this morning, as well as a raised skin tag sort of growth behind its head. My first reaction is ich, but I’m not totally sure. The raised part behind the head is throwing me off. Activity and appetite seem normal. Nitrate is 20 Nitrite is 0 GH is 75 PH is 7.2 Temperature is 78 Lots of plants in the tank, so I don’t want to add salt. I do have the trio, so I could dose Ich X and Maracyn
