  1. The nitrates were really high last night so that is why I moved him into a separate tank. So we had some cherry shrimp in his tank a couple of months back and everything was fine, until he noticed them, I saw him try to attack them a few times, but they were always faster then him. When I was looking into his tank today after I moved him, I unplugged the current and I noticed these weird little bugish things that I had thought were particles getting stirred up by the current, but they're still moving now even though I unplugged it. They look like they might be baby shrimp they are almost microscopic so it's really hard for me to tell. My boyfriend says they are like sea fleas, could they be the cause of this problem.
  2. Temp is 80° steady temp,
  3. Other than the snail that we added there weren't any major changes to the tank, it had been getting a lot of calcium build up and algae and so we had put the snail in the tank. We had the snail in a separate tank because of how territorial our Betta gets, but we decided to put the snail into the tank. So we had two snails in one tank together and split them up I put one into my tank with my female Betta and one in with the male, the female is fine her tank is doing wonderful , so I don't know what to do. It doesn't seem likely its the snail but I worry maybe he was just too stressed with the new tank mate.

    Betta Help

My Betta recently started acting very strange after we introduced a snail to his tank. I don't know if it's related but I'm going through everything trying to figure out what's wrong and I can't find anything. Please help, he lost his color, and his breathing is labored, we did a 50% water change and still no progress. I'm worried about him, he is not as active as he used to be and he just lays at the bottom of the tank now. I moved him into a new tank with no tank mates and new water, I'm hoping it will help but I'm still concerned.
