  1. Here's a visual to help demonstrate how easy it is. First find a stud in the wall. Then pre-drill through the stand into the wall. This one is metal, but it works just as well for wood. Use a drill bit that is smaller than the screw so that the threads grip the stud well.
  2. Or you could order what you want, pay for it with your mom's credit card, and then give her your gift cards.
  3. You can tell if it is a detritus worm by the shape. They are slightly thinner at the tail end VS. the front end. There is no defined head. On the planeria worm the head is an arrow shape, rather distinctive and kind of creepy looking.
  4. Those look like detritus worms. Very common and not a problem for your fish. I'm growing a batch of detritus worms right now in a newly setup tank. I think if you feed fish food to cycle a tank, which I do before introducing fish, the worm population is greater. I should mention that the fish consider these little morsels a yummy treat.
  5. Very awesome tank. I look forward to the build. Looks like Santa came early for you guys. Merry Christmas.
  6. There are so many to choose from. This year, and for the last few years, my favorite Christmas movie is the 1944 musical 'Meet Me In St. Louis'. Judy Garland is at her best in this classic, but my favorite character in the show is Tootie, played by the great child actress Margaret O'Brien. If you haven't seen this one you are missing out.
  7. It could be something as simple as turn on location in settings. I've had this happen in a couple of apps during setup and my location setting was off. After setup you can switch location back off.
  8. I got a good shot of my front yard in the reflection.
  9. That doesn't look bad at all. If it's not leaking, leave it alone.
  10. I don't bake, but my lovely wife does. She make a fantastic whole wheat bread that I love. She makes many types of bread, but that's my favorite. She also bakes lots of pastries, cookies and such. I avoid all of those now that I'm getting old. The pounds are added easily now.
  11. Hey! My order just arrived. That's just seven days. Not too bad.
  12. I'm also in TN. I'm also waiting for an order I made a week ago. The days of reliable fast shipping are over. It must be all about the money. Shipping has gone crazy.
  13. My crypt wendtii, dwarf sag, along with anubius barteri all outgrew my flex 15. I replaced them with shorter plants like crypt lucens, crypt parva, anubius gold coin, anubius Nana and some kind of buce I can't remember the name of. In the background I put a bit of bacopa. These are all easy plants that seem to fit the flex better.
  14. Looks like an insect larvae to me. Don't know what kind though.
  15. Your Sophie looks just like our Katie who, sadly, has past.
  16. HappyThankgiving Guppy, and Happy Thanksgiving to you all. We are having one of my kids and one of my grandkids over this year. Small group- Big happy.
  17. It's been six weeks since the poison water change. It's been kind of touch and go getting this guy back to good health. At first he refused to eat at all, but with coaxing I was able to get him to eat a little at a time. He would go days at a time without eating and still would hide 100% of the time. There was a couple of times I got him to eat a few VibraBites and he would seem to reel in pain, then he'd dive into the back of the tank and dissappear...for days. It has been like this for weeks until just recently. Over the last week or two he has finally shown a bit of an appetite and actually ate a decent amount on a few occasions. He still hides all the time and is never visible. However, yesterday I was in his room making a racket and I noticed him in the front corner watching me. Here's a picture. Maybe there's hope yet.
  18. Wow! That is absolutely an awesome work of art. It's hard to believe you did all this in just nine months or so. You are truly gifted.
  19. So Matthew Proctor, who you know here as @mountaintoppufferkeeper, wrote an interesting article in Amazonas magazine (Jan/Feb 2023 issue) on this very topic. In the article he describes his technique of slow water change and filtration. That's all I can say because I don't want to speak out of turn. If you can get hold of a copy it should help.
  20. I once knew a bit of German, so I thought I might understand this, aber ich habe keine Ahnung.
  21. Pipsqueak pics are hard, but here's a quick picture of a couple of my newly acquired African Butterfly Barbs. The rest of the herd are hiding, of course.
  22. Perhaps you can set your tank on a piece of 2"×12" from the lumber yard or Home Depot. Make sure it's dry and flat, not cupped. They can cut it to length for you too.
  23. Here's my eel two weeks ago to the day. His normal happy self. On the following Monday I did a water change and nearly killed him. I dont know what went wrong. I always gas off the water for at least 24 hour with dechlorinated water. I use an airstone and a heater in a clean garbage can and let the water gas off. The only change from normal for this tanks parameters was slightly higher ph (6.8 to 7.0) and higher kh (80 ppm to 100 ppm). I was guessing the water utility district added something, but who knows. All I know is almost immediately his whole behavior changed. He now hides 100% of the time and eats very little. Needless to say, I'm very worried.
